hi bhavya ...they r not related by blood as gunjan is shaylls niece and mayank is again shaylls nephew ...but from the husbands side so they donot become cousins and they can get married ...it is quiet common all over the world to have attraction between these relations ...and they can get married if they want to

Gunjan and Mayank are not related to each other. As long as their gotras are different they can marry.

In South India marriage between cross cousins is quite common and here they are not even related by blood.

Lot of people are talking about Ramayan. I take an example from Mahabharat.

Question to all people who are active in this thread, Is the marriage between Arjun and Subhadra a valid one in light of all the discussions we are having?

Sadesi:
I shall not say much abt that muslim bit bcoz i have always respected everyone regardless of their religious beliefs. I think alot of muslims will take offense to that statement. Becareful how you throw around words. If you expect persons to respect our religion then i believe that respect should be earned. Bcoz of this statement of yours i wish not to continue on these rebuttals with you here after.Perhaps you should google something on Islam you may learn a thing or two. I am hindu but i have also read the Quran. In future when expressing an opinion try not to call ppl illiterate or belittle others religion. Take care.

I don't know much knowledge on the Mahabharata...

So don't wanna talk anything on that...

As cross cousins can marry in south India...

As moms brother daughter or son... We can marry..

And even that one is also not encouraged... Nowadays...

As it leads to hereditary health issues for the children to be born...

And gunjan and mayank are not related by blood but they come under family tree of second cousins... And its not like cross cousins also... If sneha was shyl brother instead sister it would have accepted...

As topic maker i tend to believe both mayank and gunjan are cousins...

Anyone can put any idea... But its not gonna change the fact hey are cousins...

And not cross cousins...

according to south Indian culture
i know that these are second cousins... And should not be married...

But northwest are too strict so they will never agree for marriage of second cousins...

As i have north friends... And they said mayank and gunjan are cousins in relationship...so not a good thing..

But as some castes and community where womans are less in number compared to male proportion..

They follow this rituals of getting cousins married...

In same home and same caste...
