Part 5
The door opened to reveal Karan.
Before Ragini had time to react, a young lady came along and slid her arms around Karan's as she pouted, "Karan, what is this? How long will you make me wa—" and she stopped midway as she took in Ragini's appearance.
Ragini had enough of this nonsense. She instantly turned around on her heels and marched out the place before she could even hear anything further. Karan was disgusting.
She could not even bear his sight. It was only due to Sadhna that she could not completely hate him, after all he was her best friend's brother.
She stormed down the main steps in anger, and had nearly tripped, but luckily managed to balance herself.
Fear replaced anger as she realized the consequences of her temper. What if she had tripped? What would happen to her child? Her anger would have cost her this child... instantly tears started to block her vision.
She needed to get away from this place as it was starting to suffocate her. She marched up to the gates only to find it locked and a missing 'watchman'.
Great! Now this is exactly what she needed.
In exhaustion, she leaned against the gate, and closed her eyes.

Karan rushed behind Ragini. But, distraction came in the form of Tanya.
"AWWW KARAN", she screamed
He immediately rushed to her aid, even though he had to find Ragini and talk to her.
"What happened Tanya?" he asked gently
"I tripped"
At first he thought he heard it wrong, "You what?"
"Tripped"
"Tanya, stop acting like a baby" he yelled as he walked away.
"So Bipa or ripa or whatever her name is.... is more important than me huh?"
Karan just ignored her and continued to walk ahead leaving a fuming Tanya behind.

Footsteps. She could hear footsteps.
She could tell one was of shoes, mostly male and other were of heels, had to be a female. They were coming this way. Maybe it was the watchman, and some female visitor.
And, that's when she heard someone call out her name.
Her eyes snapped open. There was no mistaken, it was Karan and that stupid girl. And, they were surely heading this way.
She immediately rushed in the vast garden trying to lightly run through the water sprinklers for a place to hide. And, to her luck she found one.

Karan came running up in front with that girl behind him. Ragini could see his shoes from her hiding place.
"Where is she? I swear I saw her running here," he replied looking around
"Honey, why are you looking for that ordinary looking girl?" she asked
'Honey, my foot' Ragini spoke under her breath, 'he is a jerk, and you will know that soon ms perfect!'
"I need to talk to her", Karan replied
"duh.. That's easily understood" she answered back
"Well, you overlooked the main part"
"Which is?"
"Maybe I don't want to tell you" replied Karan
"Why? We are going to get married soon and in no time we will have kids. You're not going to tell your future wife and your child's mother"
'Married! Ha! What a joke! Karan says that to every girl he meets',
Ragini silently said in her mind."Can you please help me look for her?" Karan asked
'Good! Karan, keep up the good work. Continue to ignore and change the topic',
Ragini replied again from below."Hey look at these footprints", yelled the Barbie doll
Karan walked around the garden.
And, then he did the unexpected. He bent down. And, it was so sudden that Ragini could swear her heart had jumped right in her throat, as soon as she saw Karan's face in front of her.

"Ragini, what are you doing in here?" asked a puzzled Karan
"Hiding from you. Can't you see?" replied Ragini as she tried to push herself in front.
"Listen Ragini we need to ta—", he said in a serious tone
Ragini struggled to get out, then finally she asked, "Can't you help me out?" as she put her hand in front.
A shocked Karan stared at her. She was asking for help?
"You pig don't just stand there. Now help me out," yelled Ragini
Pig? Ragini Sharma was calling him a pig? It was never in her nature to call people 'names', since when did she develop this habit?
"Sure" he replied as he pulled her out of that hiding spot
Ragini tried to clean her clothes, which were wet in the first place, because of those sprinklers and now they were muddy. She slowly walked to one of the sprinklers to clean up the mud.
"Karan, what was that all about?"
Karan jumped because he had completely forgotten about Tanya, who stood behind him.
"Nothing" was all he replied as he looked at Ragini again.

Great! Now, why did she have to come near this sprinkler?
It was now blowing out of proportion making her entirely wet and on top she could barely even get up due to all the water falling on her, and blocking her vision.
And, then came help in the form of Karan. He immediately pulled Ragini out and asked, "Ragini, what were you doing there?"
"My clothes are dirty all thanks to you!"
"Me? What did I do?"
"Why did you have to come behind me?" she asked as she wiped out the mud
"To talk"
"Which I don't want to. Didn't I make myself clear last time? After what you did... i can never forgive you and no explanation is going to force me either, so quit wasting my time" she replied as she ran out on him again.
********
Ragini had walked up to the main gate. Amazingly, the watchman was still missing. What was the point of him?
How long would she wait? Speaking of waiting, she was wet and a complete mess.
It wouldn't hurt to go and wash her dress, now would it? She would be back in five minutes, and hopefully by then the watchman would have arrived.
She entered the house again and looked around. She could not visibly notice a washroom, so she decided to head up the stairs. It would take barely a minute, she told herself, and she would be back before anyone comes.
But, her heart knew the real reason for heading upstairs.
