Well here's my thing guys and gals.
I personally didn't notice a shizzle bit about what was going on around Alekh and Sadhna...I liked the white curtains...I liked the darkness and the wind...I thought Alekh looked drop dead beautiful in a white kurta, and Sadhna was sweet and sublime...
But that's it. The minute she comes out dressed in a red sari...my eyes were on THEM. I was looking at their faces, their eyes...their breathing, their touches...their smiles...that's it...I really became totally lost in that moment. Personally I wish the entire episode had been dedicated to them and their love. Vasu can go to high hell for all I care and I really don't need to see Anvi either...
As for build up. It's been building for months...for Sadhna, it's been building since they got married...for Alekh, the minute us ko hosh aye, it was building...he IS A MAN. His mental state was in the way of that for a while, but HE is very much a man. I think while he was busy obeying Vasu...and Sadhna was getting kicked to the curb...his own feelings for her were rapidly maturing and progressing...and that includes all sexual feelings as well.
It was building way back in that candle light scene...it was building when he danced with her to "Hum tum"...it's been building guys it was SO OBVIOUS. Looking at her was doing things to him, it was obvious he loved her...and it was obvious he wanted her because their ever single touch had so much effect on them both. That rain scene? How many times has he tried to kiss her already? He dreams about her...while he was working, thoughts of her are what got him through everything...and she's been dreaming of him since day 1.
So those are my reasons for why I thought everything was brilliant last night. That HUG (the Epic Hug for the ages) was enough for me, but they gave us so much more. I don't care if it was illogical...it was illogical for Sadhna to marry Alekh, for Alekh to fully recover...or for Alekh to never have been given the kind of treatment he needed earlier...but I don't care because this story is miraculous and last night was their miracle. Sadhna's personal miracle is Alekh and last night he gave her a gift.
As for Alekh knowing about the "birds and the bees"...
1. He's a man.
2. He didn't just recover last night, he's been in recovery for months. At some point during those months, we can assume that attraction and desire for her developed.
3. Alekh was mentally slow but not stupid.
4. Lets be frank here people, the minute we hit puberty and begin to have "those feelings", some of what we need and what we should do to achieve it comes instinctively...
5. Alekh is a man, he is human, he is a mammal...LOL...he knows what to do.
Nicely said. I agree with the hug part and Aalekh being a man, lol.
There was build up of course during the months, but it would have been nice to see something more yesterday. This was a night we waited 2 years for!
Also, personally, the setting made it hard for me to just keep my focus on Saalekh. The ONLY reason that the SR had any magic was because of Sara and Angad's chemistry and their acting otherwise the setting disappointed me greatly. This was an SR we waited ages for. I wanted something simpler.. and more.
Anu pointed out that this was a husband taking away his wife's pain. I totally agree. Sadhana has waited much much longer than Aalekh and finally when Aalekh became normal he separated himself from her so she does have a lot of pain which is why I wanted less of the over the top setting and more simplicity and more time. I wanted to see Aalekh express his love in words when he gave her the saree. I just wanted more from them. It wouldn't have bothered me if the set was empty and it was just Saalekh because their chemistry would have made that look good, but the over the top setting just killed it for me and it was way too quick.
PLEASE DO NOT START A FIGHT ABOUT WHOSE JODI HAD A BETTER SR!!! BOTH JODIS HAVE AMAZING CHEMISTRY AND ARE UNIQUE IN THEIR OWN RIGHT.
