Chapter 5
Ranvir takes a deep breath and starts walking towards Ragini. His hands are shaking and every single step towards Ragini is making him nervous. Something…something new and strange is stopping him from doing this. He neglects it and picks some speed as he wants to get over with this. In a matter of seconds he's pushed Ragini in the pool and the only thing he remembers is Ragini's puzzled expression.
Everyone looks up to see what's happening. Ranvir is just standing there staring at the water expecting to see Ragini.😲 But she is not visible. Seconds tick past Amina notices this and runs up to ranvir.
"I don't think she can swim." Amina tells ranvir in a worried voice. Ranvir looks up at her confused.
"WHAT?" He yells.
"She can't swim." Amina yells back in a worried tone.😕
Without thinking or listening to anyone ranvir takes his t-shirt off,😳🤢😉 throws it on the floor and dives in the pool. He swims all the way to the middle of the pool where he finds Ragini who is half conscious.
"Ragini mujhe apna hath dou." Ranvir yells. Ragini doesn't seem to hear him so he reaches her. He gets hold of her hand and pulls her towards himself. Ragini can feel his hands on her arm and without thinking she hugs him as if he is a lifejacket.😉😳 Ranvir hugs her back feeling really guilty. He pulls her out of the pool and places her on the dry floor.
Everyone is starring at Ragvir…apparently there is no teacher to be seen and Prem is not there either. Ragini is still unconscious so ranvir picks her up and takes her to a room near the hall, followed by Amina.
The room is very small with a small sofa and some chairs in it. Ranvir places Ragini on the sofa and backs away without taking his eyes off her.😲
"I'll go get a teacher." Amina says and leaves. Ranvir hardly listens to her. He is staring at the pale Ragini…whose lips have gone blue with cold. Some wet hairs are coming in front of her eyes. Ranvir is about to walk towards Ragini when Amina enters with a teacher and the college doctor.
The doctor examines Ragini.
"Don't worry she'll gain consciousness anytime soon…please make sure that the room isn't cold." The doctor says.
"Inform me as soon as she gains consciousness." The teacher tells Amina. "And yes…Mr. Rajwanch I want you in the principal's office first thing tomorrow morning…is that clear?"
"Yes." Ranvir replies. The doctor and teacher leave the room. There is total silence in the room. Ranvir looks up at Amina with a worried face. Amina gives him a assuring look…she is about to say something when the room door slams open. And standing in the door is Prem.😲 He is very angry with his fists tightly clenched together. He rushes towards ranvir, grabs him from the collar and is about to hit him😡 when someone says "Prem?" In a weak and small voice.
It's Ragini. Prem turns back immediately and hurries up to her. Amina is just standing there shocked and nub. Ranvir quickly looks at Ragini.
"I'm so sorry Ragini main tumhara khayaal nahi rekh payaa." Prem says, while brushing hair away from Ragini's face with his fingertips.
"Main thik hoon Prem…I just want to go home." Ragini says in a weak voice. Prem looks at her worried.
"Okay let's go." He says and offers her his hand. Ragini takes it and gets off the sofa. Prem holds her tightly so she won't fall over. Prem gives Ranvir a threatening look while walking towards the door.😡 Ragini and ranvir look at each other for a second but then Ragini looks away and leaves with Prem.😕
Amina looks at them and then back at ranvir who's standing there staring at the floor. She walks up to him.
"Ranvir lets go home." She says putting her hand on his shoulder. Ranvir nods and they leave.
Prem is driving the car but he looks at Ragini after every second.
"Prem…I'm fine." Ragini tells him assuringly.
Prem just nods.
"Prem?" Ragini asks.
"Huh?" Prem asks.
"Tum mujhe sa iak promise karoo." Ragini says.
Prem looks at her confused and then says, "kya?"
"Tum gher per kisi ko yeh nahi batayoo ga..specially vinu bhaiyaa…he'll just freak out. You know na how protective he is towards me…please."
"Na I can't do this." Prem replies.
"Please…tujhe meri kasam." Ragini says. Prem looks at her and signs.
"Okay" he says unwillingly.
Rajwanch House.
Ranvir couldn't sleep last night. Every time he closed his eyes, only one face appeared in front of his eyes and that was Ragini. Ranvir tried to assure himself that it was just a small incident but deep inside his heart he knew it was his fault. He had never felt this guilty before.
Ranvir is sitting on his bed thinking about Ragini when Amina enters his room…ranvir doesn't notice her until she puts her hand on his shoulder. Ranvir looks up.
"Good morning." He says.
"Good morning?? Ajj soraj kahaan sa nikla tha?" Amina asks him looking curious.😆
"Kyun." Ranvir asks.
"Someone's being really nice and formal to me today..tumhari tabiyat tu thik hain na??'😲😕 Amina teases Ranvir and then cracks up laughing. Ranvir pretends to be serious at first but he can't control himself so he starts laughing too. Both fall backward on the bed and start hitting each other with pillows.😉😆
"Okay okay…enough." Amina says getting up and smoothing her hair out.😳 "I need to talk to you about something."
Ranvir sits up too…as if he knows what's coming next.
"Okay ranvir…I know you didn't mean to hurt her or anything but…I think kal kuch zayada hi ho gaya." Amina stops and looks at Ranvir…who stands up and is about to leave but Amina stops him and says. "You need to apologize to her."
"main tayar hoo ker ataa hoo." Ranvir replies. Amina throws her hands up in the air as if surrendering and signs.😕
