Star Plus regains top spot with 288 GRPs

According to television audience research agency TAM Media Research, in the week ended 25 July, Star Plus regained its top position from Colors with 288 gross rating points, or GRPs, which are a total of television rating points, or TRPs, over a given period of time. TRPs are the total percentage of viewers watching a particular programme at a given time.

While three of the top five programmes are by Star Plus, Sach ka Saamna averages a rosy 4.1 television viewership rating (TVR) for the week under review. Colors and Zee TV grossed 267 GRPs and 256 GRPs, respectively in the reported week.

The competition between the channels has also heated up for the fourth spot as NDTV Imagine and Multi Screen Media Ltd's Sony Entertainment Television battle it out with their reality shows Rakhi Ka Swayamwar; and Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao, respectively. NDTV Imagine, which was overtaken by Sony last week, regained its fourth position with 138 GRPs while Sony Entertainment grossed 122 GRPs.
