I think Ranvir will make a good supporting husband once he's married to Ragini. He'll be able to see Ragini and her pain more clearly than now. Today he only saw Vasu and went by that.
I think whatever Ranvir has said has made an impact on Vasu. She is melting as we speak. Remember in the preview, it shows she's wiping her tears before she opens the door. I bet she's thinking about Ranvir's words. Plus Choti Ma had it out with her as well.
As for Ragini's attitude, Ragini has always thought that way and Ragini has every right to have a defeatist attitude. At every step in her life, a dream of hers was shattered so of course she's going to believe that it won't work out. It's not her fault.
Ranvir, on the other hand, shouldn't have a defeatist attitude because I don't think he's tried hard enough to convince Vasu. Yes, he set Vinu free, etc. That's all good and shows how much he loves Ragini, but remember when he first realized he loved Ragini, the way he begged Mamaji and Mamiji just to see Ragini? Why couldn't he have done that with his mother? Why didn't he beg her for his love?
Also, why did he make promises to Ragini and her father? He shouldn't have done that and at the first hurdle, he breaks his promises. That was messed up. I understand that he feels bad for his mom and he loves her. That's great and all, but he shouldn't have made promises that he wasn't 100% sure that he could keep and since he has made those promises he should've worked his rear end off to fulfill them.
Mujhe sirf yeh kehna tha.
