Sadi has no parents, and Mamiji treats Sadi like a adopted daughter (really sad) where Ragini gets all the love from her mother. Color is one thing but to have no parents is really sad. Sadi always does things for other people maybe to get approval.
I'm not trying to draw a comparison here.....I don't think this has to be a Sadi vs Ragi thing....they have both had to suffer for things in their own way.....it comes down to individuals....everyone has their own preferences for what touches them more.
But comparing the basic issue....yes it is very sad that Sadi doesn't have parents, but she has still gotten unconditional love from her Mamaji, so she was not totally an orphan....yes, Mamiji discriminated against her cuz of her bitterness and that was unfair towards her.....in the same way, Ragi adores he sister with all her heart....has loved as much or maybe more than a real sister.....and Sadi loves her just as much.....and Ragi despite having the support and love of her family, has to deal with harsh color prejudice....which in some ways is magnified cuz she has a fair sister like Sadi....that isn't Sadi's fault....but the issue is still very much there.
Sadi has a sacrificing spirit and does things for ppl, which I'm not denying is very nice.....but as of now, she does have a loving maayka and a loving husband....so even though she has had the tragedy of losing her parents, in some ways, she has been blessed with a lot of loving ppl in her life as well.
Ragi is still going thru her own struggle to gain self-confidence and rise above ppl's petty prejudices, so for now it is her condition that I sympathize with more.....that's just my opinion.
