First seen in Remix, Jay Soni rose to fame as Ishaan Alok Kashyap in Sasural Genda Phool. In a conversation with lan he talks about his role as Jay Kishan in Sanskaar-Dharohar Apno Ki.
The actor got literally attached to the character because it reminded him of his own family as he had been staying away from them.
"When I was in Class X, I had to stay away from my family for my studies. Sanskaar also deals with similar family bonding," says Jay nostalgically.
Hence, playing Jay Kishan wasn't difficult for him at all. "I play a pure Indian at heart guy in the serial. I am so much stuck with family values that I hate going abroad, but circumstances force me to stay away from them. It was a replica of my true situation in life. It was very difficult for me to stay in London," confesses the actor.
He also nodded for the show because he felt amidst all the saas-bahu sagas and women-oriented characters, his role had bigger prominence. "Generally it is always the girls who play such strong characters. I am lucky with this role I guess," admits the guy proudly.
The actor who was in London for the shoot got homesick within four days of his stay' "Apart from the crew I knew none there. But I felt happy when people came to me to get pictures clicked. Also the temperatures were freezing and we couldn't stay outdoors for long." The actor also indulged in some serious shopping for his family. "I bought t shirts, chocolates and a few miscellaneous items which my cousins had ordered for and I also bought a few pair of shades for myself."
The actor was also in awe of working with veteran actors like Aruna Irani and Rasik Dave and he confessed, "They are really like a family. We do have quite a lot of fun on the sets."
Am sure you do'way to go lad'keep the spirit and you are sure to go places!
