Ram reveals to Hanuman that he is a reincarnation of Vrishkapi and goes on to tell the tale of his birth. Ram also explains to him that his stay on earth has come to an end and that he will soon depart for his abode. He tells Hanuman that he needs to stay behind and spread his name. However, Hanuman remains adamant that his existence is meaningless without Ram.
