I totally agree with Lady Zaib. We are so used to seeing lovers being all lovey dovey and going to extremes to keep the other person happy we just can't understand when we see something different. I have to say the way Pihu and Rudr's love is shown it hardly looks like love at all. But my question is if Pihu's ego is so much bigger then why does she care whether Rudr lives or dies? and if Pihu is that bad why is Rudr not giving up on her and moving ahead in life? So definitely there is something more in that relationship that keeps making them drop their pretense and go for their love. And after the mahaepisode it is quite clear that for the time being in the battle between ego and heart the heart has won for Pihu. Also if I am not mistaken I had read somewhere that Pihu will continue to love Rudr so that means ideally irrespective of what she does the love for Rudr never dies. So whether she's egoistic or not, whether she gets him beaten up or not end of it all she spends her life only loving one person and that is Rudr. Atleast that is what I feel, unless they change the story.
I also agree on the other point made by Lady Zaib. Both Rudr and Pihu are flawed. Rudr is obsessed, short tempered and wants to do things his way.Pihu is egoistic and immature. And Pihu has always given in irrespective of the fact that she's got a big ego and maybe now she's at her wits end. She doesnt want to do it anymore. But she's also deeply in love with Rudr so she's highly confused. I guess as viewers we are only used to watching good and bad characters we have never watched characters that are very much like us. Whether we like it or not we all are a mixture of good and bad. Just because we don't show our bad side often doesn't mean we don't have one and just ask yourself don't we all have egos? Don't we do stuff to justify our ego? anybody who says no is plain lying. I would say Pihu is as real as it gets. She's neither good nor bad. She's just human. She doesn't always show her good side but that doesn't mean she doesnt have one. I am not justifying Pihu just my POV.
