Part 1

Randhir landed in India at 1:30 am, while he had not expected anyone to come and receive him, he saw his entire family at the arrival. Though he was not emotionally attached to his family except for his mother, he was slightly moved by the amount of affection these people had for him. Within seconds of his appearance he was buried into the hugs of various people, but finally they did give him some fresh air to inhale. However, he was disappointed to know that his mom had not come to receive him.

"Lets get going, we are getting late." Said his uncle and soon they were off too his house.

After a short drive they reached his house. No his palace. Well he was not a royal descendant, but he was no less. His father was a business tycoon, the same reason why he hardly could spend time with him. Everything remained the same, except that the entire place was decorated and this left him totally confused.

Even before he could voice out his confusion, the one person appeared in front of him for whom he came all the way from London. He was speechless looking at her. Nothing had changed in her except graying of her hair and the tired look on her face. He hugged her tightly as though there was no tomorrow while she reciprocated the same.

"I missed you." he said kissing her forehead.

"Does not look so." She replied sniffing her tears.

He distanced their frames and looked at her while she could no longer hide her smile seeing her son. Soon they both broke out into fits of laughter. They called it a night as it was about 3 and everyone retired to their respective rooms.

Randhir on the other hand was thoroughly confused as to why his mom called him suddenly and said that something important had to be decided and the same could not be done without his presence. With all these thoughts he drifted to a disturbed sleep. He woke up with a start to realize that it was already morning. He refreshed and went down to meet his family or rather his mom.

The moment he entered the living room, he was pulled by various people - one taking his measurements, one checking his skin tone, one showing him different types of fabric while the others were pestering him about the sweets he liked, type of decoration, etc.

"Stop!" he yelled and everyone stopped doing what they were and stared at him in utter confusion.

"Just stop." He said and ran his hand through his untidy hair.

"What the f*** is happening here?" he shouted.

"Language Randhir!!" roared his mother from the other end taking long strides towards him. He looked at his mother in anger and before he could storm out of the place, she caught hold of his wrist and dragged him with her.

"What is wrong with you?" she screamed at him after she pushed him into her room and bolting the door while he looked down in shame.

"Sorry" he said softly "but too many people were talking and irritating me." He complained like a 5 year old.

His mom chuckled a bit and said "they are all just excited honey."

"Excited? For what?" he asked

"Well..." she dragged.

"What mom?" he asked expecting some homecoming ceremony as a reason but what he got as an answer left him totally aghast.

"Well its your wedding and I don't want to hear anything from you. Its your dad's last wish." She said.
