PART 7
The festive month of October had arrived in F.I.T.E!
In the first year electronics engineering classroom...
Prof. Joshi stacked a pile of papers on his desk, and gave all the students an evil smile. It was time to announce the results of the surprise test he had taken recently.
He was the kind of teacher who pampered toppers, and loved to humiliate and embarrass other students.
He handed over answer sheets, taunting the low scorers as he gave them theirs. But soon, his expression changed into one of a proud uncle's!
"Only three people have performed well in this class! Mohit Chawla, 27/30, Tripti Jha, 24/30 and Vidushi Kumar...with the highest marks...29/30!!" he beamed and said.
He shook hands with all the toppers. Then everyone sat down.
"I purposely left one answer sheet for the last. Parth Kashyap, please come here!" he said.
Parth calmly walked to Joshi's desk with his hands in his pockets.
"3/30! Everyone clap for this maha purush!" the professor said, sarcasm dripping from his voice.
Everyone clapped and hooted as Parth blew flying kisses around the room.
"Just look at this gentleman's amazing answers!" Joshi said, displaying Parth's answer sheet. There was only one answer and the rest of the pages were filled with Parth's signature, in different handwritings and styles.
"Would you like to say anything about this, Kashyap?" Joshi asked.
"Sir, I was practicing my autograph for when I become famous in the future. Accha lagna chahiye na!" Parth replied cheekily.
Joshi turned red and everyone started laughing. Even Vidushi.
Parth saw the twinkle in her eyes and her beautiful smile. He heard the sound of her childlike laughter. He smiled at her, this time not smugly, but genuinely.
She stopped laughing when she saw him looking at her, and pretended to be irritated.
"Get out of my class!" Joshi said. Parth casually walked out of the class, whistling.
The lecture started and as she took her notes, Vidushi had a small smile on her lips.

Randhir told Sanyukta horror stories as he fed her rajma-chawal in the canteen. She was getting restless waiting for her mehendi to dry.
He narrated the stories in a low and spooky voice. On top of that, it was a slightly chilly and very dark night, with the occasional hooting of an owl. Sanyukta's expressions switched between curious and scared.
After dinner, they stayed in the canteen for half an hour till Sanyukta's mehendi dried completely. She washed it off and rubbed lemon juice on her hands. The colour of her mehendi was a deep maroon, and it was a peacock design.
"Wow! Beautiful! The colour is just perfect," Randhir said.
Then Randhir started walking with Sanyukta to her hostel room.
"I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight," she said, with her head on Randhir's shoulder.
"I'm such a wonderful story teller!" Randhir said and chuckled.
When they reached her room, Randhir kissed Sanyukta's forehead and said, "Don't be scared. Pray before you sleep. It will drive all your fears away."
Sanyukta hugged him and kissed his cheek. "Thank you for being in my life, Randhir! I'm the luckiest girl in the world ki mujhe tum jaisa dost mila," she said.
She went into her room and Randhir strolled to his room, blushing.

In the first year electronics engineering classroom...
Prof. Joshi stacked a pile of papers on his desk, and gave all the students an evil smile. It was time to announce the results of the surprise test he had taken recently.I hate such profs. Luckily, none of my Profs are evil. Phew.
He was the kind of teacher who pampered toppers, and loved to humiliate and embarrass other students.
He handed over answer sheets, taunting the low scorers as he gave them theirs. But soon, his expression changed into one of a proud uncle's!Lol. Proud Uncle!

I love how you never use stupid cliches. Like making Vidushi evil. Or a cheater. Love you for that.
He shook hands with all the toppers. Then everyone sat down.
"I purposely left one answer sheet for the last. Parth Kashyap, please come here!" he said.I think I smirked here. Yup. Sweet vengeance.
Parth calmly walked to Joshi's desk with his hands in his pockets.
"3/30! Everyone clap for this maha purush!" the professor said, sarcasm dripping from his voice. Drip. Lol. More smirk.
Everyone clapped and hooted as Parth blew flying kisses around the room.Ohhh... Kuch bhi kaho, the boi has ishtyle!
"Just look at this gentleman's amazing answers!" Joshi said, displaying Parth's answer sheet. There was only one answer and the rest of the pages were filled with Parth's signature, in different handwritings and styles.Lol. Classic. People like that usually write Bollywood songs!
"Would you like to say anything about this, Kashyap?" Joshi asked.
"Sir, I was practicing my autograph for when I become famous in the future. Accha lagna chahiye na!" Parth replied cheekily.I like this Parth.
Joshi turned red and everyone started laughing. Even Vidushi.
Parth saw the twinkle in her eyes and her beautiful smile. He heard the sound of her childlike laughter. He smiled at her, this time not smugly, but genuinely.Awww...You win.
She stopped laughing when she saw him looking at her, and pretended to be irritated.Adorable/
"Get out of my class!" Joshi said. Parth casually walked out of the class, whistling.
The lecture started and as she took her notes, Vidushi had a small smile on her lips.Excuse me because you made me fall for them again.

PART 8
7 November 2007
Randhir sprang out of bed excitedly! Today was the inter-college fest! It was his time to shine and make his parents and college proud.
He went and bowed down in front of his idol of Lord Krishna.
"Aaj mere liye ek bahut zaroori din hai, Bhagwaan Ji! Please help me to succeed!" he said.
Then, he heard a muffled sound. A sound of someone crying. And he was shocked to see where it came from.
Parth Kashyap was crying!!
A stunned Randhir turned around to find Parth holding a book in one hand and a bunch of tissues in the other. He had a red nose and was sobbing while reading his book. He would occasionally blow his nose in a tissue and fling it into the dustbin.
Parth saw Randhir's stunned expression and said, "What are you staring at?! It's a sad book. Just let me read and butt out!" He had a frown on his face, as he struggled to control his tears.
"Oh, ok," Randhir said.
MEANWHILE IN THE GIRLS' HOSTEL
"I can't believe this! I've never had dandruff before!" Sanyukta exclaimed as she scratched her head irritably, with white flakes falling out.
Vidushi stopped sketching and glanced at Sanyukta. "Chill! Just use some dandruff shampoo," she said.
"I've been using it for three days! It's not helping!" she wailed.
Vidushi kept her notepad and pencil down and started thinking. Suddenly, she clicked her fingers and said, "Now I remember! I have the perfect home remedy for this. Just take some white vinegar and the juice of two lemons. Then rub the mixture into your hair, and wash it off after 20 minutes. It works like magic!"
Sanyukta was a bit unsure. "Um...are you sure it will work?" she asked.
Vidushi replied, "100%! That's what my grandma did for me whenever I had dandruff."
Sanyukta brightened up a bit and said, "Cool! Then I must try that. Um...thanks!"
Vidushi smiled in return.
MEANWHILE IN THE FITE CORRIDOR
Maya walked down the corridor, half asleep. She occasionally bumped into people.
It was 7:00 AM, but Maya was not a morning person. If she had a choice, she would wake up at 11:00 every day!
She was here as a judge for the inter college festival between the five best engineering colleges of the nation.
"Attention, everyone! All the mechanical engineering students in the first and second year have to assemble in the big field for the inter-college fest, in an hour. Participants must reach 15 minutes earlier," Vardhan announced on the intercom, waking Maya up.
"He has such a velvety voice. I could listen to it all day!" Maya thought to herself with a smile.
MEANWHILE IN VARDHAN'S CABIN
Vardhan was going through his old albums. Old memories resurfaced again... ones which he wanted to forget.
Flashback...5 years ago
"Vardhan, I have a blueprint of our future house ready!" his fiance Niharika said.
"I want to see it!" Vardhan said, grinning. She smiled and laid out a huge blueprint.
She pointed out different rooms...their bedroom, their children's bedroom, the living room, the kitchen, the terrace, the study, and the guest room.
"Isn't it amazing?" she asked him. Vardhan smiled and then asked, "But...Niharika. There is no place for my parents in this house."
She simply said, "Your parents will not be staying with us."
He was shocked! "What! They are my parents! Where will they stay but with us?"
She replied, "They have their own house. You can visit them whenever you want to," she said.
This angered Vardhan. He held Niharika by her shoulders and said, "But I want my parents to live with us! I want to have a complete family!"
Niharika shouted, "Am I not your enough to be your family?"
He shouted back, "Woh mere maa-baap hai!"
"Toh phir main kaun hoon? Tell me!" She asked him, her eyes burning with anger.
He stayed silent and let go of her.
Niharika started speaking, "Agar tum chahte ho ki main tumhare parents ki seva karti rahoon, then no! I will not do that! I want to live life on my own terms. Main kisi saas ke taane nahi sunna chahti! I don't want your parents to interfere in our lives. And I'll marry you, not your family."
"Mind your tongue, Niharika!" Vardhan said, bubbling with anger.
After a few minutes of silence, he said, "Thank you Niharika. Mujhe apne asli rang dikhane ke liye."
She replied, "Well, I guess it's over then!" She removed his ring from her finger and kept it in his hand. Then, without another word, she stormed off.
Vardhan stood there, a single tear falling out of his eyes. He left as well.
He drove to the beach, and threw the ring into the Bay of Bengal.
