Sanyunkta's P.O.V
Somehow, sir discovered that Vidhushi was the one who was guilty. She had stole the paper. I dont know how he found out. Neither do I care. I was to happy to care. I wanted to jump up and down. Now I can give my exams!
But there was this part of me who felt guilty. Guilty for calling Randhir a backstabber. I felt a flashback going in front of my eyes. Him, fighting with the "gundas" for me. Him, saving me when I was drunk. I felt bad, very bad.So, I decided to call him and apologise. He pickled up the call.
"Listen Randhir I'm sor-"
"Listen Sanyukta neither did I care when you talked bullshit, neither do I care now. Do both of us a favour. Stay away from me" and with that he hanged up.Well he didnt care. Why should I? Bloody MCP!
"Sanyu, I have things I really need from the market. Wanna go shopping?" Kaustuki asked as she entered the room.
"Sure" I said and smiled.
The sky was the same colour as my eyes. Grey. I knew it would be raining tonight. Kaustuki was busy deciding which nail colors she wanted to buy.
"Pink or blue?" She asked.
"Blue" I said, absentmindedly, staring at the sky. She paid the shopkeeper and we left. We started walking really fast. The last thing we wanted was to get drained in the winter rain. We had already crossed half the path.
"Oh Shit!" I said and slapped my forehead "I forgot my purse in the shop, you go, I'll catch up"
"Okay, jaldi aana"
I practically ran to the shop. The shopkeeper was a nice man. He kept my purse safely and came to return it as soon as he saw me coming. I thanked him and started walking back to our hostel.
TIP. And I felt wetness on my nose. TIP. And another fell on my shoulder. Damn! It has started raining. I ran beneath a tree for shelter.
There, under the tree, cursing the rain was when I saw those five guys. Staring at me. Staring in a way, best left unexplained. As soon as I noticed them, two of them smiled at me. I started walking towards the hostel, not caring about the rain. They followed. I started running. They did, too.
"O madam! Kaha jaa rhe ho? Hum yahan hain?" I tried ignoring the comment. One of them ran too fast and blocked my way. I had nowhere to go. He snatched my bag and started throwing things on the ground. My phone. My comb. Everything.
"Kyun re? Ek baar rukne ko kaha samajh nhi aya?" Then he stopped as he found what he wanted. Money.
"Dekho tum ye saare paise rakh lo! Par please mujhe jaane do" He laughed. I tried shouting but the raindrops nullified my screams. He started taking steps towards me.
"Dekho dur raho mujhse!! Paas mat aana" he didnt listen. I pushed him and started running. They followed.
Through the rain drops I saw a man running towards me. A man I could kill, if given the chance. Mr. Randhir Singh Shekhawat. But at that moment, he felt like an angel. There to save me.I ran towards him and hugged him, crying. He hugged me back, tightly. He cupped my face in his hands and asked if I was fine. I nodded as I stared back into his eyes. First time in those chocolate brown eyes of his, I didnt see pride, I didnt see hatred. All I saw was care, worry and love?
Till then those guys had reached there too. Randhir unwrapped my arms and went for the leader's collar.
"How dare you touch her?!!" He growled at him as he punched him, badly. I was too shocked to react. The other four ran away from there.I kept on watching for minutes, hours. I dont know. I'd passed into a shock, I guess.
"Sanyukta? Hostel jaana nhi h?" Randhir was waving his palms in front of my face. I couldnt reply.
"Dont worry , as long as I am here, koi tumhe haath bhi nhi laga sakta" that sentence made a tear escape my eye. He hugged me again then picked me up and started walking.
Why did he care?
"Can I ask you something?" I asked.
"Hmm"
"Tumhe kese pata chala?"
"Tumhare phone se call ayi. Jese hi I picked up, I heard your screams and their comments. Then I heard Jiggy talking to Kaustaki about how you haven't returned from the shop. And girls hostel k paas to ek hi shop h na. Thats how." My phone must have hit the redial button when it hit the ground. That only explains the call.
Somehow, Randhir managed to enter the girl's hostel. I dont know how, I was too busy looking at him with only one question banging in my mind.
Why did he care?
"Ms. Engineer. Aapka room aa gya" he said disturbing my train of thoughts.
I got down and started walking towards my room. I heard his footsteps fading away. I turned around and shouted his name. He turned. I ran towards him and hugged him tightly.
"Thanks for always being there when I need you"
