Monalika returns with Saathi Re - article

Mostly seen in negative roles, Monalika Bhonsle has made a comeback on television after a long time. She will now be seen as the second wife of Rajeev aka Aamir Dalvi in the serial Saathi Re and is thrilled about it.

"Yes, I will be playing the second lead in Saathi Re. I don't know the actual story line of the show as of now, but I think it's a story woven around two wives. In fact I don't even know whether it's a cameo. I've always done negative characters and this is the first positive role that I'm doing. I'm looking forward to it," Monalika says.

Her earlier serials were Kesar, Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqueekat and Kutumbh — all from the Balaji stable. "The Balaji camp is like a family and this is the first time that I'm working outside Balaji with a new production house and new people. Let's see how it is to work here," she says.

Monalika is from Pune. Her father was in the Army and she shifted to Mumbai around six years ago to get into acting. She also did ramp modeling, but did not have any kind of formal training in acting. Her first serial was Hamare Tumhare for Zee. "I did not undergo any screen tests for it. They had my pictures, called me for a talk and I was finalised," she says. (Sampurn)
