I have two doubts-
1. Even SNS is number one in trp ratings, then why its rating in IMDb is very low... while other shows like diya aur baati hum taarak Mehta ka ooltah chasma, etc have high ratings in IMDb.
2. This show is number one then why still no actors have promoted their films on SNS set, while again in other shows actors visit their set to promote films.

please clear my doubts... I hope you all will...

1. TRP ratings have nothing to do with IMDb ratings. The show is number one on the TRP chart meaning it's the most watched by people watching it on their TV sets. IMDb ratings has a online rating system and SNS doesn't have a big online following as compared to other shows. Actually, I think online SNS is probably one of the most hated shows on Indian TV. 😆

2. Interesting point, but I have no idea why.

2) it's not really a cool show. Auntie ji's tend to watch it, another reason there's not much of an online following.

That means ki agar star plus apne shows ko online ratings system ke basis se dekhnelage to sabse pehle SNS heen band ho jaayega:-P

Why would Star Plus or any channel do that?

Online ratings don't make money. TRPs do.

TRP audience and online audience are largely different types of people. TRP audience are mostly families and women who enjoy watching saas-bahu drama. Online audience are usually younger people, maybe living in hostels or abroad, and they prefer love stories or more realistic shows. But obviously TRP=audience, so online viewers are not taken into consideration.

Why do TRP viewers still watch this show? I think out of loyality and force of habit and for the love of high drama it offers on a regular basis. Even if they end up wrapping the show, viewers will just move on to something else. Almost every show follows the formula that SNS has. I don't think SNS going off air will affect TRP viewers much.

And why do online viewers hate SNS? Because their favourite shows get shut down as they do not bring as much TRP as SNS. Everytime another show gets shut down, number of SNS haters increase.

It is because of loyalty, habit & curiosity, people watch this show. If a movie is released in the theatre having good number of viewers & runs for 25, 50 or more weeks, it becomes a hit. So I think even the TV serial TRP's are based on the audiences.
