Somehow, I cannot sympathize with Urmila when I remember all that she did to ruin Gopi's life in the past. I have come to love Rashi, because she redeemed herself of all the bad deeds she did by protecting Gopi, bringing her back into the Modi bhavan after eight years, and then sacrificing her life to save Gopi's. Gopi saved Rashi's life (back during Giaa's days) when Rashi was kidnapped, and was on her death bed. Now Rashi has done the same for Gopi, unfortunately getting killed in the process. Rashi will always be remembered as a great character of SNS.
However, I cannot sympathize with Urmila even though she's a mother. I can understand her pain, but I cannot sympathize with her because she's just so damn selfish and self-centered. She had no qualms about abusing her young niece since she adopted her at such a young age. She tried to ruin the marriage of Gopi because she was jealous of Gopi's good fortune. She did so many bad things in the past, and never once did she redeem herself.
Personally, I feel that Urmila is suffering the karma of her actions. Rashi definitely did not deserve to die, but Urmila committed so much bad karma in the past that the pain she is currently feeling is a punishment for her actions. She cared nothing about another woman's daughter. She treated another woman's daughter like dirt for many years, and now she is feeling the pain of losing her own daughter. It's nothing but karma.
I feel sorry for Rashi. I feel sorry for Gopi, Jigar, Tolu and Molu, all of whom love Rashi a lot. I even feel sorry for the Modis, because despite their arguments they did love Rashi, but I do not feel sorry for Urmila, as I hate her character so much and remembering all the deeds she did in the past makes it very hard to feel sorry for her.
