Right from her childhood, Gopi has had a hard life with an abusive aunt and cousin who saw her no more than a servant. Deprived of an education, she went on to become the beloved Gopi vahu who carried on her responsibilities with sincerity and never complained about anything. Then survived in Somgad for 8 years by getting a job and raising her daughter as a single mother. The thing that's most amazing about this character is that she never allows herself the luxury of going into depression. Kokila and Ahem, despite living in the luxurious mansion with their entire family, lived in perpetual self-pity. Ahem's room is disorganized like his life, his health also seems to have been affected. Kokila has given up household responsibilities altogether on the pretext that she is depressed. She doesn't dress up like earlier. And yet Gopi looks fresh as a daisy. In the hostel she taught good values to the children but more importantly, they listened to her because she embodied kindness and was hence christened Pari Miss. She does cry but is a very strong person. She not only survives but manages to create her own life. The character, despite her flaws, continues to be an inspiration.
