CHAPTER 2:

As they came inside Vidhya noticed that Ashish's hands were full of presents and Tejas had a big chocolate cake in hand. She smiled. She knew her choti ma will never let go. Rashi was carrying a big tray full of plates, half plates, a big dish covered with plastic lid and a mug coffee. Rashi placed the tray in reading table. Tejas placed the cake infront of her. They all sat around her.

Rashi: Tujhe kya laga main itni asani se tujhe jane dungi? Acchi bacchi ki tarah aab cake kat.

[Did you think that I will let you go that easily? Now cut the cake like a good girl.]

Urmila: Haan dikra. Maine yaha tera birthday manane ayi aur tu hai ki..

[Yes dear. I came to here to celebrate your birthday and you..]

Vidhya laughed a genuin laughter. But did what Rashi said. She cut the cake. Everybody sang "Happy Birthday" . Rashi took a piece and feed Vidhya. Vidhya also feed Rashi, Urmila, Tejas, Ashish and Prateek. After finished eating Vidhya took the mug and divert her attention towards the gifts. Rashi gave her a big photo album filled with photos of Gopi and Rashi as they grow up. Photos of their marriage. Gopi with Meera and Tolu, Molu. Rashi with the kids. Vidhya hugged the album for sometime to cherish the moments then put it aside. Urmila gave her a beautiful purple color designer suit. Ashish and Prateek gave her a series of books she was searching for somedays. She turned towards Tejas and wiggled her eyebrows.

Vidhya: Mera gift kaha hai?

[Where is my gift?]

But Tejas just smiled in return.

Tejas: Later.

Vidhya frowned. She couldn't understand Tejas. Tejas and Ashish were twins but totally different in look and behaviour. She can understand Ashish very well. His behaviour was totally predictable. But Tejas was a closed book just like her. She never could predict his acts. But on the other hand Tejas understand her in and out. So, when Tejas said later she couldn't help but wonder. She looked up and saw Tejas was smirking. That devil surely knew what she was thinking. His eyes were twinkling with mischeviousness. Rashi's voice brought her out of thought.

Rashi: Maine tere lye biriyani banai hai. Tujhe bohot pasand hai na!! Main yeh cake sabko serve karke ati hoom. Phir saath milke khayenge.

[I made biriyani for you? Your favorite, right? Let me serve the cake to others. Then we will eat together.]

Saying that Rashi and Urmila went from there.

As Rashi and Urmila went out of the room Ashash lay down in the bed.

Ashish: Ah!!! My hands are aching yaar. The gifts were soo heavy. Hey Tejas what are you going to give?

Tejas smiled in reply.

Prateek: Tejas vai is not going to open his mouth. You know him better than me Ashish vai.

Ashish grimaced.

Ashish: Yeah yeah. I know. The man with sooo much sectrests. Hai na vai?

Saying that Ashash winked at Tejas. In return Tejas hit him in the arm.

Vidhya laughed.

Vidhya: Ok. Now stop. Hey any of you had seen My Little Bride? It's awesome.

Prateek: I did. And Vidhya is right. Everybody should see this movie?

Ashish jumped out in excitement.

Ashish: Yayy. Movie time. Let's watch. Will have fun. Yap yap..

Vidhya shook her head. She played the movie and dimmed the light.

Vidhya sat resting her back against the pillows. Ashash again lied in the bed but this time he put his head in Vidhya's lap. Prateek sat beside Ashash. Tejas settled himself beside Vidhya. He put his head in her shoulder and took hold of her hand. He started making circles at the back of her hand. Vidhya felt as if all her rage and anger were vanishing. Somehow Tejas know exactly how to release her rage and anger that she kept locked in her mind.

Rashi cut the cake into pieces and served with tea. Everybody became shocked to see this. Kokila flared up.

Kokila: Yeh cake maine khas Vidhya ke lye mangwayi thi. Ussne mudke bhi nehi dekha aur tumne isse kat dya!!

[I ordered the cake especially for Vidhya. She didn't even spare a glane and you cut it already!!]

Rashi: But kaki ji Vidhya ne cake kata hai. Iss hi lye toh main serve kar rahi hoom.

[But kaki ji Vidhya did cut the cake. That's why I am serving it.]

Ahem: Vidhya ne cake kata hai!!

[Vidhya did cut the cake!!]

Urmila: Ha Ahem dikra. Ussne cake kata bhi aur hame khilyi bhi. Haam abhi ussiki kamre se arahe hai.

[Yes Ahem dear. She did cut the cake and feed us too. We are coming out from her room.]

Their heart twisted hearing this. They took the cake without syaing any other word. Baa couldn't eat a single piece but started crying.

Kokila: Baa aap lease aise maat roye. Koi na koi haal jaroor nikal ayega.

[Baa please don't cry. We will surely find out solution.]

Baa: Aur kya haal nikaloge. Sara baat tumne aur Ahem nehi to bigada hai. Ek maa hoke dusri maa ka dard nehi samjha. Ek masoom bacchi se apni maa ko berahmise alag kar dya. Yeh saab ussika nateeja hai.

[Now what solution you will find? You and Ahem ruined everything. Being a mother you ignored the pain of another mother. You cruelly snatch away mother from an innocent child. It's the fruit of that.]

Nobody uttered a single word. They just kept their head down. Kokila didn't admit her fault but kept thinking about solutions.

A girl aged 24 running in the street like shooting star. She was wearing a sun colored kurti with red long skirt. Her dupatta was yellow with red dots in it. Long shiny hair were flying open. She was wearing a red color thipu. Matching jwelery with two hands full of bangles. She reached her house and started banging the door. After a few times an elderly woman opened the door.

Woman: Kya baat hai? Aab kounsa pahar toot pada hai?

[What happened? Why in so hurry?]

Girl: Kya maa!! Pehle saas to lene do.

[What maa!! Let me catch some breath first.]

Woman let the girl enter and closed the door. The girl cleared her throat.

Girl: Mrs. Gopi Modi aaj apki beti Ms. Meera Modi ka LLB(Hons.)result publish hua hai. And aapki beti ne top kya hai!!!

[Mrs Gopi Modi today the result of LLB(Hons.) of Ms. Meera Modi has been published. And your daughter achived the top place.]

Gopi couldn't believe her ears. She joined her palm and send a quick prayer to her Kanha ji. Then she looked at Meera who was busy in dancing. She couldn't help but smile at her antics. Meera remind her so much of her Rashi behen. She had totally taken on her.
