I used to watch SNS when it started and disliked Rashi for doing Kalakaari in cahoots with her mother. She was just a spoilt brat who wanted an easy life and did not care about anything or anyone and wanted to be praised and kept on a pedestal by all who knew her.

Later, I used to track the serial once in a while and saw that her inherent nature was the same. However, at that time for some reason, I started wondering isn't Rashi more like Kokila and Gopi like Hetal. And I am not talking about the jhoot and kalakaaris but the nature of being upfront, taking a stand and speaking her mind. The main thing she lacked was putting her family above everyone else as for her, her 'family' meant only her mother.

But now, though she still remains lazy, there is a marked shift in how she views her mother and tells her off (especially when it comes to Meera). Plus, she has learnt to keep her mouth shut when the matter does not affect her directly. I think it is her childish way of talking (as if she is throwing a tantrum) that is a negative for her. She has the ability to see through people's true nature and the more I see her, I feel Kokila should be fair to the bahus and train Rashi to take responsibility after her instead of Gopi. Gopis is soft like Hetal (can't you just imagine her going 'java de' when Rashi gets angry) and can be her sounding board.

This is just my POV. I know that Gopi is the key protagonist and there might not be many people here who support Rashi but I am just trying to see the potential in her.

I must say that this thought crossed my mind too. The personalities of the four are practically the same and the writers have shown that they expect Rashi to carry the Modi mantle after Kokila.

But having said that I still think that Rashi is an under serving character. It irks me to see Gopi pushed aside as far as happiness and dues are concerned. Especially as everything points to the lazy, cunning and downright nasty characters get away with murder whereas the goody, goody character is blasted for putting one foot wrong. Aah, such is life *sighs*

I agree that was the first thing that I noticed when I first started seeing sns hetal and Loki are Gopi and rash just some 30-40 years in the future.
At the same time I think that Koki does some partiality toward Gopi, tashi is not all bad if she treats both equally then probably rash will come to respect her more and stop doing her kalakari all together
