Yes this example will come useful in the future for many things, and it actually made me think about my current work situation that we are going through.

Thanks, I guess I am so tuned into the whole Giaa thing I didn't even think about the other thing.

Hey, I was in New Jersey last weekend. Once in a while we go to the Iselin area to shop for Indian stuff and just soak in the Indian atmosphere😊.

I was in Edison on Sunday, at Mirage next to Mogul. We were attending anniversary party.

I am about 15 minutes from Philadelphia, lots of Indian shops around us.

Shaun, the Univ of Va set precedence in bringing back their President. She didn't have 100% support for her leadership, but she had 100% support in people agreeing that the way she was ousted was wrong. When you do things behind closed door and not level with people, it insults them into rising against you. The univ board forced Sullivan to resign in a day and never revealed the reason for it. Sullivan may have been the worst President in the history, but with this shady action of hers, Dragas (the rector of the board) was bound to fall flat on her face. After the furor, Dragas released a long explanation for why Sullivan was fired, but by then, it was too late. At the time, the protests started, almost everyone said, nothing is going to happen. The President will never come back and look, what happened.

I am not defending Giaa. She may be responsible for this whole fiasco. She may be the worst kind of actress, greedy and opportunist. I am questioning how SP and the PH handled the whole thing. Couldn't they have made statements to prepare the viewers for her ousting? Couldn't they have been more open when they made the decision days before the replacement. In her apologetic email to the UVA alumnis, Dragas defended her decision by saying, "we did the right thing, the wrong way." But nobody was listening. Now, Dragas's position may be in jeopardy.

No wait. I was agreeing with you lol. And I wasn't saying you were defending Giaa either lol. And I know what you mean by the principle of the thing.

Why oh why do you always mis-understand me or my motives Aris 😆

Shaun, I completely agree with you that all facts are not known here. All campaigns must run along the right lines. All Giaa fans are still shocked and are in a emotional state...I completely sympathies with them. In the past 2 + years they rode a historic wave of momentum😉. But momentum is a fickle thing. The mob can both pay off and rob, after all😛

Aris, It is not the power of people fighting for a cause in Giaa's case ...her sudden departure from SNS zone has shocked her fans period. We humans are prisoners of the moment, entranced by the spectacle and attractiveness of our beloved HERO.
It's of course "cool" to support our HERO/ Heroine but with right facts & figures.
.

There are always two sides to a coin. The only fact in Giaa's case I know is that she was replaced overnight and no statements were made by SP and PH to the viewers. The viewers were treated shabbily. People are clear on that and not in the dark. Why did they feel so hurt? If they had some inkling, they would have been sad but not felt wounded. In ipkknd, Daljeet was leaving due to dissatisfaction with her role. The viewers gathered around her to make her stay and now, the producer is giving her a good track to work on. It was all done openly.

Any way, this post wasn't made just for Giaa. Giaa and UVA incidents just prompted me to think about our everyday lives and how we often refuse to fight for things thinking we won't win or give up the fight too soon since we don't really care about the end result. It's all about if you believe in what you want.

@ bold - no better way of summing the SP - Giaa face off..
Very well said Aris.. I think viewers are hurting more cause they were taken for granted, they weren't considered as stakeholders or even given a second thought about how things would impact them. Viewers are more aware than they were ever before.

I am sure both parties have a story but as a channel, SP had to do things but they should have sensitized the audience first. They could have avoided a lot of the fracas by simply releasing a statement initially when they knew a decent number of their contracted actors were approached and then left the decision to the actors.

I was also there on Sunday. Next time, I will need to ask you to recommend a good restaurant. We have a lot of shops and restaurants here too, because I live in the DC area, but Iselin is different.

Which brings me right back to my point. Although I think that was in another thread. SP is a business. They think and plan ahead. They would have known exactly what the repercussions were if they went this way. Yet they persisted. There is some motive here that we are missing. And without that motive anything is just a guessing game... my guess is SP are quite happy to end SNS. They have also counted on losing some viewers... but they will have something in their bag to counter-act that. Start looking out for a new serial that's in the pipe-line.

Yes some viewers will never forgive them. But many will forget SNS just as soon as something shiny and new and exciting comes along to distract them. Such is human nature.

Well either that or this is one huge publicity stunt and we are the fools 😆

Absolutely, JDJ didnt happen overnight, neither to Giaa nor to ppl who were approached.. and SP was aware of what was happening , they just used Giaa until the very day possible and replaced her.

Even if they do not end the show, they might take a generation leap (owing to the fact that even RaJi are trying to get somewhere, desperately and Maasi will patch things up for everyone).. and move it to one of the afternoon slots it has.. They have done that in the past.

Agree with you, Shaun. See, I didn't misunderstand here😆. Still, I think no matter what their motive was, they being a big business should have handled things better. If they keep doing things this way, they will alienate for viewers. I have resolved never to watch a Rashmi Sharma show ever again (as I did with Ekta shows). I haven't resolved to get off of SP yet, but I can and I will if they keep being stupid.
