Good post aris!!! People are power but they should know how to use it. 😉

The one thing that bugs me about this whole situation. And has from day one. Why the overnight replacement. They could have phased it in. Do the Gopi burnt in fire/plastic surgery option. Even without Giaa being aware that they were replacing her. But they still went for the jugular. Now either they expected Giaa to back down from JDJ, or Giaa expected them to back down from her demands.

The fire thing would have been a safe bet burn her face. Shoot with a body double for some days. Then ask the audience to vote who they want as new gopi. The same way they got the older anandi. It would be much more better for everyone. The scenes were with nazim not a body double,

Is it not the power of people that bought freedom for so many countries around the world. Did all the people in the respective countries believe them. No they were people who supported the cause, they were people who did not support the cause & stayed indifferent, they were people who mocked people putting in efforts for they felt the goal they were aiming had no direction. But yet the people who believed, did whatever they could in reaching those goals. Some were leaders, some were followers, some could do multiple things like lead protests, gather people, motivate people yet they were some who all they could do is stich a flag or stand on the road where the protest was going to show their support.

Did all the countries receive their freedom the 1st time they tried to rebel? No. The opposition made it impossible because they were powerful, because they had resources, because they could crush people who rebelled against them. But yet the people who believed made multiple attempts, survived worst senarios, lived against people who did not believe them & thats when they received their freedom.

The opposition how ever strong it was, the day it forgot about the people whom it was ruling, the day it thought only about their own selves, the day it pushed policies on the people, that was the day the opposition was bought down by the power of people.

Well why did I bring this example is to say, STAR PLUS has / is strong, is the lead among the entertainment channels. Yet today we see that they are losing out on TRPs of some of the serials which were on the top, they have come close to the striking range of losing out the top position to its rival Colours on GRPs, the top position which was way above has now come where in a few changes by the other channel , can topple its position all together.

Did a Gia do it, Did a JDJ do it, Did a colours do it...No. STAR has bought the starting of its own downfall because it stopped caring for the people who actually put it in the top position.

Well STAR did take into account that the change in the lead will bring down the TRPs in SNS, because the day it changed, it bought out tracks of confession & love to hold onto the viewers. It knew that people will not like the change but what they did not take into account is that people did not like the change but actually felt Deceived by STAR by changing the lead & then bringing on tracks which they were waiting for 2+ yrs with the new lead. They did know that the TRPs will comedown, but they did not expect that it will comedown below 3 because even during IPL which was in a fullswing did the TRPs not come to this low !!!

The way STAR handled Gia's situation & how it replaced her overnight & then hoping CINTAA issue against her has actually left a bitter taste in the mouth of the viewers. Forcing someone else on as the new Gopi on the viewers showed that STAR cared none about the sensebilities of the viewers who actually are the ones who had made it the lead channel with high TRPs & GCEs.

The viewers rebelled against STAR not only against SNS but infact against the entire channel. Some are leading a protest, some have stopped watching the serials on STAR, some have become indifferent, some are still with them. Hence we see that no.s for star are decreasing. Will this ensure Gia is back, no one knows but onething is for sure , STAR has lost the premium viewership, the people power which backed it .

Gia has moved to JDJ, viewers have moved to other channels, Rival Channel is ensuring all its serials in the premium timeslot are doing good to ensure it is in the striking range of becoming the lead Channel. Who has lost, it is the STAR, as of now it is only 1 week data we are seeing, but as far as I understand this is a trend downwards. STAR was the one who had made a 7PM slot as a premium slot, till then none bothered about this slot but now it has itself lost the advantage all over.

My further take is Star cannot & will not want to see its downfall, so it will observe this current track & see if it will change its fortunes, if it does not, then I will not be suprised to see it making overtunes to Gia to comeback on to the show. But will time support STAR when it makes that decision is what, we , I will wait & watch because by then it would have lost the top advantage it has as viewers / people would have moved on !!!

Navya, thanks for your comments. I agree with everything you have said. I have a different view about the bold part. StarPlus currently is the leading channel. They are big and they are arrogant. History says what goes up must come down. This is their time to learn from their mistakes if they can see them.
It wouldn't really matter to them if they shut down SNS. It is just one show in their kitty. There are plenty of other show being developed by them and the viewers will move on to those shows. The question is will they make other stupid mistakes in their arrogance in future? They are taking their viewers for granted and think they are invincible and can do anything they want without any explanations. They don't realize that from the top, the only way to go is downwards while other channels who aren't far behind are closing up the gap towards the top.

Then somewhere along the line something happened. And the decision was made in an instant.

Although they were planning ahead because Dev was given an audition and scenes were re-shot. And all that takes time and planning...

Speaking of the re-shot scenes. I have asked this before and no-one answered. Was it Nazim in those re-shot scenes or did they use a double?

Yes, again agree with you. My theory is they did initially agree to Giaa's part in JDJ, that's why they had those talks and agreements in place with Colors for exchange of their actors in reality shows. Rupal Patel was already going to be in JDJ as a damage control for viewers who didn't accept Gopi vahu dancing in western dresses in JDJ. The way Rupal's scene was shown in JDJ tells you this was probably scripted before Giaa's fall out. Why would SP allow Rupal to be shown as a supporter of Giaa in the show? I think soon after they gave their go ahead to Giaa, other actors who wanted to participate in JDJ but were refused, protested to their PH's. Their PH's in turn strongly objected to SP for this bias. SP had a mutiny on their hands and had no choice but to fire Giaa outright. Rashmi Sharma was a wuss who didn't fight for her star.

Agree Vibz, much better for viewers to handle and feel respected and being part of the SP parivaar. I still think SP was being arrogant and uncaring in their attitude. They wanted to make an example of Giaa and show other actors that they are all replaceable. They forgot about the viewers.

I read somewhere the actors worked extra hours that weekend to do those shots. The news broke on 6th of June when Giaa didn't come to the sets and Devoleena showed up. The epi for 7th June was shot on 6th June. You are right, it doesn't make sense though. They must have worked really hard, because Dev was in a lot of scenes.

That would make more sense and will show their care towards the viewers, wouldn't it? My only guess is they couldn't get the writers to write a new track and get all the actors to act in one day (all the scenes where Gopi wasn't present had already been shot). They were not keen on extra cost for the interim track. It could also be they just wanted to show all SP actors that they can be replaced overnight without any change to the main story. Who knows, but sheer short sightedness on their part.
