I am a silent reader of the forum, but watch SNS quite regularly. Gia's leaving the show has certainly been a huge setback but I have continued watching it, trying to appreciate the new actor Devoleena. Looking at the new Gopi neutrally, I think the actor by herself is a good actor with beautiful eyes and good acting skills. However, she seems to portray a character who is so not the Gopi we know:

1. Gia's Gopi was not comfortable with any English words, except thank you, while Devo's Gopi is pretty confident with English and uses it very frequently
2. Gia's Gopi was in love with Ahem and would blush and sparkle whenever Aham was around, while Devo's Gopi looks more like a newly wed who still has to grow her bond with her husband
3. Gia's Gopi was strong and confident in spite of her timid nature, while Devo's Gopi is a lot more timid and scared
4. Gia's Gopi had a naiveness to her , while Devo's Gopi is a more mature, grown up version
5. Devo's Gopi has a lingering sadness, melancholy to her that adds depth to her character, while Gia's Gopi was much more childlike.

The purpose of this post is not to compare the two actors. I just want to point out the two actors seem to portray two different characters. Seems like Gopi has died and Kokila has got Ahem married to another girl similar to Gopi, who is a completely different person and has a character of her own that is not Gopi

Very well said. And as much as like the childlike Gopi. Maybe it is time Ahem gets a mature Gopi. You can't have a childlike pregnant woman, it just doesnt seem right.

It's nice to see you on this forum! Lovely analysis, and I definitely agree with your five points, except I don't find her to be more timid than the old Gopi.

The new Gopi is much more confident but not perfect (she still has trust issues with Ahem and takes Rashi's words too seriously). She looks and carries herself in a much mature manner which is good since the naive, childish nature would not have worked for a pregnant woman. Her lingering sadness is justified due to what she had to endure in life (not having a normal childhood, being neglected by her husband, etc) , and we can see that much clearly with the new Gopi.

This is just my own opinion as to why the new Gopi is a breath of fresh air and a new vibe for the show. 😊

This makes the show interesting to watch since it's a new character with her own, distinct personality and her journey as Ahem's wife. Why compare her with Gopi at all 😛</font>
