I spoke to someone at Star in London. I called them on
0203 008 2000I wanted a number so that I could give my feedback. The person I spoke to was actually quite nice but he wasnt able to offer me any more than that Giaa had been let go because of a breach of contract. At first he said it was because her contract had ended, until I corrected him.He said that they had been getting many calls and the marketing department had been sent hundreds of emails. He gave the impression Star is unlikey to bring her back. Maybe to put me off.I asked him about the actual breach. He was not able to tell me. I said that Star should make it clear exactly to the viewers what was breached. I mentioned that if it was because the show was on another channel then why is Kokila allowed to promote Jhalak and also why is Rashmi Sharma allowed to have another show on Colours. I also said about Star worried about a detrimental affect on the character being a factor. He said this could be an issue. But then I said Giaa has performed to songs such as 'darling' so why did Star allow this.Basically he did not know what the breach was but there definately was one on her part. He said all actors have different clauses in the contracts. I suggested Star should say exactly what the breach is or reinstate Giaa. He took my details and said someone would be in touch.
That was a really good argument you made Sandy. I just wish you spoke to someone higher up like the person that made the decision to get rid of Giaa and see him stumped at their double standards.
Lets keep pushing them to come forward and clarify they decision.
