You know it's strange, even before the shocking news of Gopi's departure, I kinda felt questioned whether the show was coming to an end particualry for the last 2 weeks.
When Detective Inspector Kokila cottoned on that it was Anita who started the fire and revealed this to everyone in the very next episode, it was a shock to the system. Normally, such news as this in Saathiya takes weeks to come out, even months...and in some cases a year! But it was all handled so swiftly, Anita was dragged out in dramatic fashion (much applauded) and the whole matter was done and dusted! Shortly after, Anita was packed, ready to go, down the stairs, a few minutes on the phone and she was back with her estranged fiance. Bob's your uncle!
Anita provided the catalyst to bring out the much-awaited goodness that was waiting in Rashi's character. I always knew it was there, and it was a true joy to see her and Urmila supporting Gopi (the one and only Gia Manek) through the whole Anita-Ahem fiasco. I recall saying, that if they had spent a couple more episodes like this in the past, the show would have been even better!
What was even lovelier was Kokila achieving a record breaking and jaw-dropping amount of praise to Rashi. It was truly a wonderful harmony.
Gopi knew that she trusted Ahem with all her heart, and she lovingly repeated this to him. As the months progressed, Ahem began to love Gopi with adoration, pride and respect and we the viewers felt blessed at witnessing this.
These were all factors that led to me believe that the show was coming to its natural end. Not to mention the fact, that despite Urmila's antics, Kokila can practically read her mind and guess her intentions with a 100% accuracy! She pretty much summed it up in yesterday's episode when she took the phone from Rashi!
So there didn't seem to be any more surprises.
I would have like to see Kinjal and Dhaval come together romantically, but I suspect the matter will be handled just as swiftly as the Anita packing her suitcase and magically being restored with her fianc incident. So there's no need to hang around to see the show play out its final scenes.
I'm glad that shortly before Gia's departure, the show showed a lot of positive conclusions and improvements. I don't feel as if there was a lot hanging in the air. So I never got to hear Ahem say I love you to Gopi. What I did see was a bandaged Ahem on the bed, gently asking his wife to hold his hand and apologising to her with her the utmost sincerity. I'll recall this as the last Gohem scene for me. It was the best expression of love I ever saw without saying the actual words.
