Gopi was in the garden watering the plants. she had mild smile playing on her lips, then there formed a blush in her cheeks as she remembered "Gopi'.. mujhe sham ka intezar rahega'.." (Gopi I will be waiting for the evening eagerly !!) he had said.
she squinched her shoulder remembering the way Ahem had come close to her ear to say it, her blush grew deeper.
Gopi was in her own thoughts, when Rashi came in a rush calling her name, Gopi was too lost in her own thoughts to realize her being called... Rashi came and nudged her shoulder, and Gopi jerked "Ji Rashi ben'" (Yes, Dear Rashi Sister)
"Gopi I am calling you from so long'. Why are u not giving any response'?"
"Ji Rashi ben'" ( Yes Rashi Sister )
"Ok'. Listen' Kakiji is calling us'. Jigarji, Ahem Jiju and kaka ji all have come home'. And we need to prepare snacks for them"
Gopi nodded, had Rashi observed she would have noticed that at the mention of Ahem back home, Gopi's eyes shot up only to cast back down in shyness and nervousness.
Unknown to this, Rashi continued "Come on now'lets go'." Gopi nodded and walked with Rashi''
As they were about to enter the living room she paused for few moments and tried to scan the room, scared that her eyes might look at Ahem in any part of the room. It was not about not looking at him, but about looking at him and she starting to blush infront of all of them.
she brushed the idea aside as thinking about it was it self making her nervous. So, she thought of just walking fast to the kitchen before her anxiousness reaches its peak. Her cheeks were already crimson out of shyness and unknown happiness.
She walked fast behind Rashi, not looking any where around. As she was near the dinning table, she felt eyes on her back. As her anxiousness took the better of her, she could sense his eyes on her and a part of her was anxious to turn around to meet his gaze and a part of her afraid to even look around. As she was already blushing and if their eyes met, she might melt like ice cream on a sunny afternoon.
So, she walked into the kitchen after pausing at the table for few minutes to get thoughts together, then she got back to work, which was making samosa and pakoda for family.
Ahem smiled inwardly as he observed his wife's amusing antic's. How she had been running, the only thing on his mind from the time he had left for office was, when would he see her again. His eagerness to be with her was making him restless and seeing her now made him more eager to be with her.
All the other family members were in their own talks, he did not want them to get a glimpse into his feelings as he knew, he was probably slightly blushing already. He excused himself from the living room.
He stood up gave one look at the kitchen door, took a deep breath to relax himself, climbed up the stairs. He thought of taking a bath then changing into his evening wear and stay in his room to relax as being here and seeing glimse of her now and then was making his sense to think about those untouched realms in their relation.
He reached the door of his room, saw his clothes laid out on the bed. He smiled a knowing smile, he took his towel walked into the bathroom. He took his sweet time to take his bath. The initial hot water from the shower did not help his senses as much as he wanted it to, so he turned on the cold water and as the cold water hit his body, he gave out deep held sigh.
He may not have realized but his body already was in tune with his mind and was waiting for the night to fall, for the time to come after all he was a man.
He took his towel wiped himself and tied the towel around his waist and walked out of the bathroom towards the bed to pick his clothes.
After a lot of hesitation and back n forth dilly dallying, Gopi came to their room with Ahem's Green tea and snack tray. She was half hoping he was not in the room, she was feeling scared at the thought of seeing him in their room and him advancing on to her.
In one corner of her mind all day, she had been constantly trying to think how he would approach, what he would ask, What she would answer, What he would say, What would follow but nothing could match what was waiting for her.
She walked into the room with shaky hands nervous from her own thoughts. She placed the tray on the side table near sofa, she was turning back to leave without looking, when Ahem caught her hand to stop her.
He had just worn his night dress and was walking out of the bathroom when his eyes saw his wife, slowly walking with the tray. She was not even looking around and he knew exactly why.
He knew she was nervous and at that thought that she might be thinking about the same things his mind was wandering around, hair on his skin lift up straight to indicate his anxious state.
If Gopi could look at Ahem's eyes she would have known instantly what Ahem was wanting from her. Ahem tried to relax by taking a deep sigh and took steps to reach her. Now she was placing the tray on the table, and then she was turning when he had run to hold her hand to not let her walk away.
Gopi was in shock to see that Ahem had caught her hand. She fidgeted to remove her hand from his hold, but Ahem did not budge. Gopi was too nervous to face him. Ahem knew she was nervous and so he walked behind her still holding her hand.
When he is behind her, he moved his other hand to hold her around the waist and Gopi gasped and Ahem left her hand that he had been holding only to move her hair from her shoulder moving it to one side and smiled at her nervousness as he could feel the goose bumps against his body.
Knowing her he knew, she would never take the first step, in their relationship he was the one who has to take initiative and to say it he was liking this.
He placed his lips just near her ear and said " mujhse bhag rahi ho" (R u running from me ??) in a very husky voice, gopi gulped in her mouth, darting her eyes from side to side not knowing how to react. When she did not respond, he knew he had got her on spot, he gave a smirk to himself
Being so close to her, her milky baby soft skin with a tinch of turmeric added'.. that's what he thought when he looked at her skin. He could not resist having the privacy and the chance to do what he did next.
He slowly moved his lips lightly on her neck skin, Gopi shivered and bring her hands near her chest she tangled her fingers together to control her growing anxiety. Ahem looked at her to see her closed eyes, frozen to the stop like a statue.
He took hold of her hands with his, pulled them down and tangled them with his. Gopi pressed her hands against Ahem hard to control her growing feelings. Then he pressed her against himself, breathing in her scent and letting her feel how his body was reacting to all this. He wanted her to realize that although he was keeping a brave front, his heart has been racing like driving a racing car. They stood rooted to the spot feeling each others reactions through each others body.
Hearing Rashi talking to Meethi loudly outside the door, Gopi opened her eyes and feeling movement in Gopi, Ahem opened his eyes. If one could look at their eyes then, one would realize the passion with which each wants the other.
Knowing what just happened, Gopi was blushing and her cheeks had turned pink. Ahem looked at her a pride streaked through him as he saw her blush.
Gopi could not lift her eyes to look at him, she just fidgeted with her fingers, seeing this Ahem smiled and lifted her face to look at him as their eyes met a tear was threatening to escape gopi's eyes and Ahem slowly moved his thumb to remove the tear of her beautiful spotless face. He nodded his head sideways ( saying her that he did not want her to cry) as more tears threatened to spill from her eyes.
He knew how long his wife had been deprived of being accepted, he knew how long he had kept her far away while he was fighting his own demons - stubbornness, hatred. She has been the pillar of strength that kept their relation from falling apart and to bring it to where it was today.
A numerous emotions threatened to spill out of Gopi, she was aesthetic, her blood was rushing through her veins. She was overwhelmed by too many feelings, many emotions crossed her face as she stood there looking at her Ahemji.
Ahem took her face in his hands and looked her in the eye and flapped his eyelids ( To say her that he knows her thoughts ) to tell her that he knew what she is going through and as Gopi caught his hands on her cheeks, he just bent to kiss her on her cheeks to soothe her, it worked Gopi couldnot contain herself and hugged Ahem.
Ahem hugged her back to give her the comfort and the assurance Gopi was looking for.
After few minutes of hug, Gopi composed herself and realizing where she was, she wiped her tears and tried to move from the hug. She was shy again feeling her Ahemji very close to her, Ahem release her a little so that he could see her, she seemed ok now, also the glow in her cheeks was back, which indicated Ahem that she was feeling shy to meet his eyes.
