OS: Apologies

Hello Saathiyans!😊

This is my first OS. The title derived from the OS of course. It's all about apologies, so I thought why not call it Apologies.🤔 So here it is…

OS: Apologies

It was night time in Modi Bhavan. Everyone settled in their bed rooms at the end of that dreadful day.

The smell of thick smoke still lingered around the house and in everyone's minds. For some it was a mystery and for others the truth was clear.

In the guest room, Anita lay upon her bed, tears rolling down her eyes. What has she turned into? she thought. She has lost it. She never knew that she could turn into a killer. She thought about the mess she had created. The scenes kept playing back in her mind.

Gopi, without thinking twice rushed to rescue her Husband and there she was rooted to the floor, unable to help her "Love".

She realised at that instant, that Gopi was indeed the right one for Ahem. No further explanations were needed. Forget about educational qualifications and so called "class and culture".

Ahem and Gopi have learnt to make the best out of their similarities and appreciate and learn from their differences.

Jigar was amazed at how the women in his family did everything smoothly without the men finding out. He smiled proudly at his wife as she continued to babble on about how evil Anita is and how innocent her sister Gopi is.

Jigar said," Kakiji has found the right partner for Ahem Bhai. Only Gopi Bhabhi, with her patience and care can deal with Bhai. "

"You know Jigarji, Gopi looked so happy when I let her speak to Jiju. They both missed each other so much. Her face was glowing with happiness this morning…..Oh and Ahem Jiju, seems like he was dead for the past week. He looked as if he got his life back when Gopi spoke to him finally. They are so madly in love!" Rashi said gleefully.

"Well, that's their life sorted. My wife here has completely forgotten that her husband even exists. ", complained Jigar turning away from her.

Rashi turned on her side to face Jigar and hugged him saying," Oh Jigarji, don't say that, I missed you so much."

The door opened and Gopi came in with the jug of water. Ahem suddenly looked up. Gopi locked the door and turned around.

A smile escaped from his lips. She returned the smile and walked towards the bedside table. She placed the jug on the table and turned around to go to the bathroom to get changed. As she was about to do so, she was stopped by Ahem's voice calling her, "Gopi".

She looked up as he walked towards her.

"Ji Ahemji,"

Ahem was now stood infront of her.

"Gopi…ermm..you saved my life today. I..ermm..I am indebted to you for saving my life..

"Ahemji.."

He held her hand in his and said, "Gopi, I don't know what I have done to deserve you. All I know is that I haven't been a good husband. Please, forgive me Gopi."

Tears were rolling down her eyes. She was speechless.

"Ahem..ahemji..I…" and she hugged him. (Okay, you must have understood by now that I am not good at descriptive writing……👎🏼)

Ahem returned the hug without hesitation. They stood there like that for a while. Ahem broke the hug after a while and wiped the tears off her face.

"I love you Gopi!"

"Anita, what are you doing up so early?"

"Aunty, I want to speak to you. "

"What is it Anita?"

"I am sorry Aunty. I understand that I was wrong and you were right. Gopi is the Yogya Patni for Ahem".

Kokila pulled the pallu over her shoulder and said, "Anita, I am glad that you have finally realised this. You shouldn't be apologising to me. If there is one person that was hurt in this whole process, it has to be my Gopi Vau. It is her to whom you should be apologising. "

"I know I must, but you were the one who took care of me when I was lost and what have I done to your family? … Aunty thank you so much for everything. I promise you that I will never interfere in Ahem and Gopi's life and I will sort out all the mess that I have created before I leave tomorrow."

"Anita you cannot leave because when you came into this house with me, I made a promise that I will find someone for you. Until that is fulfilled you remain here."

"But Aunty..I don't deserve…Aunty, yesterday… it was me who caused the fire."

" I know…I know it was you who caused the fire Anita."

"Aunty..??"

"I was going to tell everyone today about what has been going on this family. I thought it was time and I cannot risk the lives of my family members just to prove you wrong. I didn't think you would change overnight."

Anita started crying and fell on her knees saying,"I cannot believe how selfish I have become. I did everything, not because I loved Ahem, but to prove you wrong, I just wanted to win."

Kokila held her by the shoulders and pulled her up.

"Anita, it's time to move on. You have a long way to go. Think of the last couple of weeks as a bad dream. But please stay with us until I have found someone for you. Let me do this for you Anita."

"Aunty your family has done so much for me….I will do anything you ask me to do. I will stay. But before I go any further, I want to give you something."

Anita gave Kokila the wedding CD that she was holding.

"This is my wedding CD. I want you to watch it. I am sure you know how to deal with what you find in the video. "

Gopi and Rashi came down to the Mandir.

Anita turned around to face Gopi. She held Gopi's hand in hers and said, "Gopi, forgive me for I have caused you so much pain. Ahem loves you and no one can love him like you do. I shouldn't have interfered…I am sorry Gopi. "

"Anitaben, don't worry…it's okay..."

"It's not okay Gopi… I have caused only trouble...I don't think I will be able to forgive myself…"

"Anitaben…don't say that. Life teaches us many lessons. I have learnt so much in the past 3 weeks. I have had feelings that I thought never existed for me. At the end of this challenge and competition I have got stronger. So don't be disheartened. These life experiences have prepared you to face harder challenges. " (I have an odd feeling about this part…😕)

"Gopi, Ahem is lucky to have someone like you."

She then moved towards Rashi and said, "You took care of me Rashi, but I wasn't nice to you either. Rashi look after your sister. Always support her like you did when I was causing her pain. You are lucky to have Gopi as your sister."

She then positioned herself so that she was facing all three ladies and said," Once again, I would like to say sorry for the trouble I have caused."

As Anita walked away Kokila smiled proudly, Gopi smiled with satisfaction and Rashi stared at Anita in awe.
