On a serious note, it could be that she's too "madern madern", but then why she asked for the mangalsutra is beyond my scope.

My mom, although very traditional, doesn't wear sindhoor or the mangalsutra at home. She says that sindhoor makes her itch. LOL So she just uses the liquid kumkum or whatever and wears the mangalstura when she goes to a pooja or wedding--basically for show. 🤣 Good going, Mom. 🤣

In sikhs its not a tradition to wear sindoor and mangalsutra so my mom has never wore both

The problem I have is that in serial world, all married women wear sindoor. All married Modi women do. Anita is modern, but she asked for mangal sutra. Why didn't she ask for sindoor? She is seeing Gopi and Rashi wearing it. It should trigger in her that if she doesn't have mangalsutra, at least she should wear sindoor or bindi. Even her suit makes her look like a young unmarried woman. She should wear bangles or a sari or heavy suit to make her feel like a married woman. Didn't she shop for her clothes to wear after her wedding?
