Excellent explanation, Abbay. I agree with you totally. I feel for Ahemji, too. But this is his first time, and we all feel for him, but I feel for Gopi more because for her, it never ends. I was OK with it, because I thought there will be light at the end of the tunnel, but now, with all this talk of Ahemji marrying Anita is making it worse thinking about Gopi. Ahemji may be unhappy in his second marriage too, but I just can't help but feel Gopi's pain more. That's just me. I am biased towards Gopi.

A few accepted facts are-Physically Men are stronger than women, Mentally both are equal, Emotionally we women are stronger than men. How does society relate & use these facts in the institution of a family? Men were sent out to earn & feed, women were to stay back & support them emotionally in every case & in any case.situation is more or less same today except at Mental level. where a woman's opinion was never asked before now even her opinions are respected.They are given equal education & opportunity to follow the career of their choice.which gives them financial independence & confidence. Awareness is much more than before but what is not changed or probably will never change is man's ego. They have been provided with the right of 'protecting' woman & they will execute this forever😉😆. ...there goes our Ahem ji😳

Has Ahem not shown how much he trusts & supports Gopi even without questioning her in the past...from not knowing & saying mom you know her & I trust you mom to saying I know my wife, their relationship has grown leaps & bounds...so Im sure he will be there for her without a question & hold her. He will not ask her but if she says he will listen to her so that she feels at peace 😊!!!

I know society is progressing, but the Indian serials are going backwards, I feel. The female leads are always made to suffer more than the men. And most of the times, the torturers are also women.

You are so right mostly woman only tortures a woman. Indian Tv loves to show the ritualistic abuse and garner sympathy, which gives them the desired TRP.
My logical brain says...Physical strength, financial independence, lack of education among woman are major causes for these kind of abuses, but apart from them there are also some woman who do not want to be equal to men ...they just want to follow their men rather than walking together. it's its hard for me to figure out why?

I had recently gone to India to attend a wedding and my husband was helping with the kids diaper change & stuff so he was called JKG & what not😡. I feel even today Indian ppl don't like 'Gharjamai' n 'joru ka gulam' (definitions may vary !!) so to an extent indian women too like male dominance. If we woman raised our kids better we'll surely have a better society ...with no dowry deaths & forced weddings and brother killing his brother in law for falling in love with his sister.
