Gopi failed to understand what's happening around her, she felt as if she was in a maze. Ahem wanted nothing to do with the incident and kept urging Gopi to return to Rajkot, but Gopi didn't budge. She sensed a conspiracy and wanted to get to the bottom of it.
Things have to get messier before a pattern emerges and a conclusion can be found. Asma called Gopi and informed that Anand's dad has been shot dead. Things got messier from here on. The woman who claimed to be Anand's wife was creating ruckus in front of Anand's ancestral home...Gopi and Asma went to talk to her and that woman swore on her child and claimed that Anand was her husband...and she had evidence, she took out what she claimed to be a photo of Anand and her son...The Anand in the picture was not the Anand she knew...Police identified the man in the photo as Bittu Singh, the brother of Anand's step mother. He had cheated that lady by claiming to be the son of that house and since they lived separately because of so called parental opposition, that lady didn't get suspicious.
The case was cracked soon. While Anand's bro and sis were killed by enemies, Anand's mother was killed by his father in order to clear the way for him marrying his mistress Champa, who had just given birth to a son. Champa was a gold digger and her family thought that Anand is probably lost or dead and that's why the family hasn't heard from him for years...and he won't return to get his share of the property...rivals had foisted a false case on Anand in order to get even with his father...but times changed and Anand's father was so enamored with his mistress that he was least bothered about his son.
When Anand was brought back by the police( based on Ahem's tip-off ), his presence was an irritant to his step-mother, who asked her brother to kill Anand so that her wealth won't have another claimant. Her brother was neck deep in debt and arranged for the murder. Once Anand was murdered, Champa gave her brother a sum which was far lesser than the promised amount. She refused to give the rest and challenged him that he can't prove her guilt in the eyes of the law and any attempt on his part would be counter-productive.
This had enraged her brother and he killed his aged brother in law and threatened his sister with a desi pistol and decamped with their valuables. He fled to Nepal. Champa tried to blame the murder on Naxals but failed.
Gopi forgave Ahem because he didn't want Anand to be killed and he was unaware of the fact that Anand has been framed, all he knew was that he was involved in a case of sexual assault and wanted him to be arrested. Getting Gopi back was the main driver but protecting her and their son from a criminal was also a factor which led Ahem to do what he did.
The case was cracked and the necessary arrests were made. Gopi returned with Ahem to MM. She resolved to keep track of further developments in the case...
