Ahem had just gotten home from what he liked to call a productive day at work..more like day-dreaming about Gopi.He shook his head and decided to go give his mom money for her expenses for he month, Kokila looked at him with a stern expression before putting the money safely into her cupboard. She wasn't particularly keen on Ahem nowadays,he was lacking with his office matters and his constant attention would be on her Gopi vahu. She decided to take matters in her own hands. Enough was enough.
"Ahem dikra,what is this?" Ahem looked surprised at his mothers question. "Mom,what are you saying?" "Im saying this Ahem,your lacking with your office work and Gopi vahu,she is becoming slower with her tasks,what is going on with the both of you?,your attention seems to be going on Gopi vahu to much these days" "Mom,how can you say that!?" Parag entered to witness the mother-son duo conversation and was left confused. "Kokila,whats going on?" "Its better if you don't speak in between this,you've never been a good husband and you have no right to talk in between today" "Mom what is this?,I've never said anything to you but today,it's the limit,mom I've never lived. Till today I've never lived my life,all I've done is listen to you and respect you,where has my life gone?,either I've been studying,working,making a name for myself and have never enjoyed life. All because of you mom and today your complaining!" Ahem left the room leaving a dumb-founded Kokila and a very thoughtful Parag.
Ahem walked in to his room in frustration,he threw his laptop bag on the couch and stood there as Gopi rushed out of the bathroom to her rather concerned husband. "Ahemji,Ahemji are you okay?" Gopi nervously asked. NO RESPONSE. "Ahemji,please,tell me,are you hurt?,is everything okay" Gopi's words were making it harder for Ahem to compose himself and he threw her into a helpless hug,Gopi gently rubbed his back and soothed him as Ahem began to cry "Sssh Ahemji,sshh im here,mai hoon na,please be quiet",after a few minutes,Ahem was in a silent sleep,Gopi worriedly placed Ahem on the bed,taking his shows and socks off and putting a warm blanket on top of him. She was just about to turn the lights off when Parag knocked on the door.
"Gopi dikra,how is Ahem?" "Papaji,Ahemji is sleeping right now." "Oh" Gopi looked at Parag,she didn't know whether to ask but she thought she may aswell. "Papaji,did something happen to Ahemji?,he came in real upset" Parag began to narrate what had happened with which Gopi bit her lip and became upset,she didn't like the thought of both her maaji and Ahemji upset."Gopi dkra,I need your help". Gopi listened attently to what Parag was saying and a small smile appeared on her face. "Papaji,im sure it will work!"
Next morning: (Sunday,holiday from office)
Gopi had just finished singing the aarthi,she offered prasat to Raashi,Hetal,Ahem,Kokila and the rest of the members. Parag rushed in late and Kokila shook her head in dis-may. "Where have you been?,We've finished the prayers aswell." "I was busy getting something ready,Gopi dikra,is it ready?" "Ji papaji" The whole family looked at Gopi and Parag who seemed excited. Gopi gave Parag some prasat and he left taking the blessings of elders for some important work. Ahem and Kokila stared at Gopi who was smiling brightly. "Gopi vahu,what is thins,where is he going?" Gopi smiled and looked around her, "Maaji voh,sorry I can't tell you,when Papaji gets back,only than I can tell you" Raashi started to giggle lightly,she thought it was funny,for the first time Gopi was not telling something to Koki.Koki just glared at Raashi,that wiped her smile right off her face and she looked down on to the floor before smiling again. "Gopi,mom is asking something from you" Koki looked uptowards Ahem proudly but than remembered his harsh words from last night and left to go to the kitchen. Gopi saw Ahem's concerned face and looked down, he stared at her almost trying to figure out why she never told his mom the reason and shook his head before reaching the breakfast table.A couple of hours later:
Everyone was seated to have dinner,Gopi and Raashi were serving when suddenly Parag entered the Modi house with a massive smile and was shouting "Gopi dikra,Gopi dikra!" Gopi rushed towards Parag eagerly and the family followed anxious to find out what was going on. "Gopi dikra,I've done it!" "Really papaji!" Gopi immediately touched Parag's feet and received his blessings,she ran to the kitchen and brought out sweets which she distributed immediately. "Whats going on here?" Ba asked to which Parag replied "Ba,my poetry is being published,im going to be a poet!" Chirag and Hetal were the first to react who immediately jumped at this wonderful news,Koki was pleasantly surprised trying to absorb the sudden information and Ahem was just staring at his father in utter shock. "And baa,this is all because of our Gopi dikra" Parag touched Gopi's cheek affectionately and Gopi just smiled gratefully. "Gopi dikra gave me the motivation to go ahead and try to get my book published and because of her,today the people enjoyed my writing, Thanks so much dikra." "Papaji,it was all because of kanhaji" Koki left the hall with slght tears and Parag instantly followed her, Ahem stared at Gopi with a new form of respect and appreciation,he walked towards her and silently thanked her. "Ahemji,if you really want to thank me,than go apolgise to maaji" Ahem looked at Gopi surprised. "Ahemji,its really difficult for maaji to see you paying attention towards someone else other than her,you need to understand a mothers view point aswell,she's afraid she'll lose you Ahemji" Gopi's words sinked in and Ahem finally began to understand his mothers worry. He felt proud of his wife and kissed her on the forehead before rushing to his mothers room,Gopi smiled and thanked her kanhaji while Jigar went upstairs to his room leaving a dis-heartened Raashi running after him.
Ahem entered the scene to see Kokila apologise for all the taunts she throwed at to Parag and both apologised to each other for not fulfilling each others expectations,Ahem knocked and entered the room. "Im so sorry mom, I over-reacted,I never meant to hurt you" Koki began to become teary and hugged her son. "Ahem dikra,ypu were right,im so sorry Ahem dikra,I burdened you since childhood and today I've realised my mistakes" "Mom don't say that" "Ssh Ahem dikra,its completely true,just do one favour for your obsessive mother,forgive me dikra!" "Mom" Ahem hugged his mother tightly and Gopi began to weep from the door. This is what she wanted and it was happening,she loved her family very much.
