Another moment way when they both were concious and he touched her without hesitation is this years Janmashtami, twice, if you can watch the two scenes again the first one the left hand of Aham was extremely busy caressing Gopi, he wanted to make sure it was her and that she was safe right there in his arms, the second scene when they were pulling Kanaji on that swing, first he grasped the flower rope, then he made sure to bring his fingers back so that his palm was caressing her fingers, so I agree when they are both concious he touches her to see her reaction to him, to reassure himself she loves him, by her blushes when touches her, and also to reassure her that he is there supporting her.

When she is not awake or aware, he feels it's not right to touch her, as he is intruding on her sleep or her thoughts, which is another good thing as it shows sensitivity to her need to sleep and her need to privacy.

So all of Aham's body language is saying I love you and there is nothing else as important to me then you.
