Hi everyone.
I found myself very frustrated with today's episode and the CVs. I hated Rashi's smirks and Kalakari's. I literally wanted to crawl into my phone and appear on the show and strangle the witch. So this is my attempt to vent my frustrations and hope for a positive result. Hope you guys like it.
Just one thing, since I wrote it so quick please excuse any misspelled words and grammar errors.
Koki paced back and forth, worrying about what could have happened at school, while Hetal and Parag looked on.
"Kokila, relax, with kanaji's blessings I am sure everything turned out ok." Koki glanced at her motabhabhi, and prayed that she is right, but for some reason she was feeling very restless. Just then the doorbell rang. She walked to the door as fast she could to open it.
Koki opened the door to see, seething Ahem, scared Gopi, and smirking Rashi, her restlessness increased. "Ahem, what happened how was the paper?" her son entered without answering and she knew something had gone wrong. She glanced at Gopi, who was looking really sad and had tears in her eyes, and then at Rashi, who tried to hide her smirk from her lips, but couldn't hide the elation in her eyes. Had she made a mistake by asking Rashi to write the paper for Gopi?
Koki turned to Gopi. "Gopi vahu, is everything alright, did the exam go ok?" Gopi did not answer, the tears were very visible now, and so was Rashi's smirk.
"Mom, why are you asking her? I will tell you." Koki turned as Ahem spoke from behind her. He sounded very disappointed. "Mom, I think we all expected too much from Gopi. I don't know why I took the time out of my work to help her, she does not want to be helped." Koki braced herself to hear the worst.
Koki frowned at her son. "Ahem stop talking in circles and just tell me what happened." She watched as Ahem glared at Gopi then turned back to her. "Mom she answered the questions wrong, and she didn't even answer half of the questions." Koki was shocked. No that can't be, her Gopi vahu worked too hard to give up this easily, she again glanced at Rashi, then at Gopi. She saw Gopi give Rashi a fearful look.
Koki pulled her pallu over her left shoulder and glared at both Gopi and Koki, and said in her loudest most fearful tone. "Gopi vahu! Is this true?" Koki hardened her heart at Gopi's flinch and the fear in her eyes. Koki walked towards Gopi.
Everyone looked on in shock as Koki took Gopi's hand and started dragging her towards her room. "Kokila, please calm down, let me talk to Gopi." Koki turned towards her motabhabhi. "No motabhabhi, today once again Gopi has disappointed me, not only me but Ahem also, who worked so hard to get her to study. This is between me and my vahu, and I don't want anyone's interference."
Ahem also tried to stop her. "Mom what is the use now, you don't get upset over this gawar." Koki glared at her son. Why can't he think calmly? Why can't he see that Gopi was scared and is having hard time answering him, has he learned nothing about his wife in these past ten days? She had such high hopes for her son; she thought he had started to have feelings for his wife. Has she been wrong? She glanced at him closely and thought no she was not wrong. Her son did feel for Gopi, his anger is from disappointment that's all.
She glanced at Rashi, then back at Ahem. "No Ahem dikra, I will handle this on my own, I don't want anyone to disturb me, I will see what kind of punishment to give to Gopi vahu." She dragged Gopi to her room without glancing back while everyone looked on in shock.
Hetal and Parag wore similar worried looks, while Rashi smirked, thinking, I will have to call mom soon and let her know the bathroom kalakari worked, she will be happy to hear this. She rubbed her hands in glee, now both the mother and son are angry at the gawar, oh this is so much fun.
Ahem glance at his kaki and then at his papa and frowned. What is mom up to now? He glanced towards Rashi and was surprised to see her rolling her eyes and smiling, almost as if she is celebrating. Now what is this idiot Rashi smiling at? Then it hit him, and his knees almost buckled. Oh no, I should have known, I knew it, that sending Rashi with Gopi was the wrong decision, as soon as his mom announced it this morning. Why didn't I come up with a different solution? But he had been so worried about the meeting, he quickly agreed with the decision, and he didn't think Rashi would be able to do anything wrong, since the teacher would be there to monitor them, and also his mom had warned Rashi. Apparently Rashi still managed to do something to make Gopi run out of time, he was sure of it.
He glanced down at the paper in his hand. He had only asked Gopi answer to one question, and as soon as she got it wrong, he lost it. He asked her the wrong questions. He should have asked her why she ran out of time when she told him she ran out of time, instead he immediately started hurling insults at her. Oh god, he should have know Gopi was capable; she has worked just as hard to study as he had worked to teach her. He only thought of himself in that moment and didn't even think about she must have felt. Instead of trying to make her feel better he had made her feel bad. No wonder she had been unable to utter a word. Will she forgive me? Ahem glance towards his mom's room, and knew that his mom had known instantly what happened that's why she took Gopi away from here. She didn't want to find out what happened in front of Rashi. He is sure his mom will get Gopi to talk. He was ashamed it should have been him who should be talking to Gopi now, not his mom.
Koki closed and locked the door to her room then turned towards Gopi. She went to her vahu and placed her hand on her head, caressing it gently. "Gopi vahu, I know you studied hard, and also know that its not that you didn't know the answers to the questions, so why don't you tell me what happened."
Gopi started sobbing when her maji lovingly asked her what happened. It had been so hard to see Ahemji's anger. She wanted to tell him she knew the answers to all the other questions, and also did very well on her verbal test, but once he was angry, she couldn't form a word to tell him, all she had been able to think was that she disappointed him today. She wasted his priceless time. How can she tell him that it hadn't been her fault, but Rashiben got locked in the bathroom that is why she ran out of time? Would he even believe her?
Koki took Gopi to the bed and set her down gently, wiped her tears and made Gopi look at her. "Tell me Gopi vahu, if you won't tell us then how can we fix this?"
Gopi took a deep breath and haltingly at first told her maji everything. As she started talking she gained strength and told her everything that happened starting from her verbal exam to the end of test time. When she was finished, her maji put her arms around her and hugged her to her. "Maji, I disappointed Ahemji today, I wasn't able to fulfill his expectations."
Koki glanced down at Gopi. "Nahi Gopi vahu, this is not your fault, don't worry I will fix everything. Now go wash your face in my washroom, don't go out my room, no matter what, do you understand?" Gopi was confused but nodded her head yes. Koki sent Gopi to washroom then turned towards the phone. She dialed the school number. "Hello, this is Kokila modi, may I please speak with the principal please? It's regarding my vahu Gopi."
Half-hour later the whole family was gathered in the hall except for Gopi. Chirag and Jigar had also returned from office and had been filled in on day's happenings. Everyone, except for Ahem, had attempted to ask Koki regarding Gopi, but all she said is, that she knew what she was doing with Gopi, and no one needed to worry about her.
Ahem sat beside his mom patiently, he had tried to go up stairs, but his mom had halted his movement, giving slight shake of her head. He understood, she didn't want anyone to question Gopi, especially Rashi. She wanted to make sure Rashi did not try to go upstairs to try to talk to Gopi. He sat back down and waited patiently, he knew his mom was about to deliver some explosive news. Just then the doorbell rang.
Koki glanced at Rashi. "Rashi whay are you standing there like a statue, did you not hear the doorbell? Go answer it."
Rashi pouted. "Ji Kakiji, I am just going." Rashi rushed to the door, and opened the big heavy door. When she saw the Gopi's exam teacher and the principal standing there, all the blood drained from her face, and she started sweating.
They greeted her, and walked into the hall. Everyone stood up and greeted the teacher and principal. Koki turned towards the principal. "Thank you so much principal sahib for coming to Modi Bhavan, I am sorry I had to trouble you, but this is very important for my Gopi vahu." Koki turned towards Jigar when they assured her it that it was ok, and they understood the urgent need. "Jigar, go call Gopi from my room."
Rashi rushed to interrupt. "Kakiji I will go get Gopi, woh Jigarji must be tired'" She trailed off when Koki glared at her. Jigar glanced at Rashi and made a quick show of going to get Gopi.
He returned with sad looking Gopi. Her eyes were red and swollen from crying her heart out. Ahem glanced at her and again felt guilty for jumping to conclusion and making her cry.
"Principal Sahib before I ask you for Gopi's test results, I would like to know all that happened during the exam." Koki's voice snapped Ahem back towards the family and the teacher.
The examining teacher started out by telling them about Gopi's verbal exam. He told them everything, how Gopi was doing so well but was interrupted by Rashi twice, he finally had to ask Rashi to step out of the room, and once Rashi was gone, Gopi was able to give all correct answers. Ahem glanced at Gopi proudly, just then she also glanced at him and was surprised to see him give her a approving look and a small smile, she instantly felt a relief at that one look.
The teacher then told them about the written exam. How Gopi prayed first, then he noticed Rashi waste 15 minutes just praying. Hetal gasped at this, Chirag and Parag also looked surprised, and Jigar had a disbelieving look on his face. Only ones who were not surprised were Ahem and Koki. As the teacher continued to tell them all that Rashi did during the exam, everyone was left speechless. When the teacher finished, Koki turned to Rashi. "What do you have to say for yourself Rashi?"
Rashi was sweating bullets, she wished her mom was there with her, she didn't know what to do, now this Kagdi is going to punish her good, oh god, mummy where are you? Only one thing to do, she turned towards her mother in law and her husband. "See mummyji, this is why I did not want to go with Gopi, I knew Kakiji would blame me for Gopi failing. I didn't do anything purposely; I couldn't help it if the pencil broke, or if Gopi took too long to answer. And in the middle of the exam I had to go to the washroom, it wasn't my fault that I got locked in the bathroom." She jumped when Koki called her name loudly.
"Just one moment Rashi, stop making excuses for yourself." Koki turned to the exam teacher. "Sir you tell me, how was my Gopi vahu answering the question?"
The teacher glared at Rashi and turned towards Gopi. "Mrs. Modi, Gopi was doing very well, I heard all her answers, and her pace was just fine, in fact it was Rashi who kept telling her to slow down, because se was going too fast." Koki turned to Rashi, but didn't say anything at first. "What was the other thing you were saying Rashi, that you got locked in the bathroom right?"
Rashi replied in small voice. "Ji kakiji."
Koki turned to the principal. "Sir now it's your turn."
The principal started talking. "One of my teacher came and told me that she went in the bathroom when she heard someone talking on the phone, she noticed the chain was broken from the outside, so she opened the door, and saw Rashi was in there, she told Rashi to quickly go to the class room that her sister was waiting, but Rashi kept taking her time to wash her hands, and wouldn't even move fast." Koki once again glared at Rashi.
Rashi made a whinny face, and said in false tearful voice. "Kakiji I really was locked in the bathroom, I didn't do it purposely."
Hetal spoke up. "Kokila, may be Rashi is telling the truth, why would she want her own sister to fail?
Koki couldn't believe it. "One minute Motabhabhi." Koki went to the kitchen and came back. She showed everyone the carrot from that morning. "See this carrot motabhabhi, this is the one that my Gopi vahu was grating when she cut her hand. When I was cleaning up I picked it up, and wondered why it felt oily, then I looked at the other carrots also, there was one other one with oil on is sitting next to the grater, rest of them were dry, I didn't think anything of it at the time, but now I am sure that Rashi did this also, so Gopi vahu wouldn't be able to write the exam. Anyways, I could tell you about Gopi vahu's kajal also, but I know once again you won't believe me so I will leave it at this. I just wanted everyone to know, my Gopi vahu didn't finish the exam because she ran out of time and why she ran out of time." No one was able to speak in face of Koki's revelations.
Koki turned towards the exam teacher. "Now you may tell us how Gopi vahu did on the exam."
The teacher and the principal smiled at Gopi and Ahem, who has been standing still, shocked at all that was said. "Mr. Modi, you should be proud of your wife, you were right about her, she can learn and you have proved this so the credit also goes to you. As you know she passed the verbal exam with 100%, and except for the question she read wrong, she got all the answers on the written exam correct. She didn't pass with 100%, but she still passed with good percentage. We would like it if Gopi continued to attend our school."
Ahem looked at Gopi with pride and smiled at her, she flushed at his look. Koki also very proudly looked at Gopi and Ahem.
Ahem turned towards the principal. "Thank you so much sir, but now I want Gopi to finish her studies thru correspondence courses, it will be faster, and also I will be able to teach her English along with it."
The principal smiled at Ahem and shook his hand. "As you wish Mr. Modi. You have set a good example for other husbands by teaching your wife yourself, and continuing with her studies and showing that it is not too late to study at all, anyone at any age can do it, with a support of a right person. I wish you both good luck for the future." After giving the answer paper to Ahem, the teacher and the principal left.
Everyone congratulated Gopi, and told her they were proud of her and Ahem. Rashi came towards Gopi. "Gopi, I am sorry, but I really did get locked in the bathroom." Before Gopi could speak up, Ahem spoke up. "Enough Rashi, we don't want to hear any of your excuses, I never liked the fact that you were going to be writing the paper for Gopi, but I agreed only because I thought you wouldn't dare defy mom, but you still managed to mess things up for Gopi." Rashi couldn't say anything; she gave pleading look to Gopi, but was ignored. Everyone else was also giving Rashi disappointed looks.
Ahem took Gopi's hand, surprising everyone. "Gopi lets go, I want to talk to you." He didn't give her a chance to say anything just took her to their room and closed the door.
Gopi looked at him nervously and fiddled with her hands. Ahem stopped in front of her. "Gopi, I am sorry, I shouldn't have said all those things to you, I don't know what came over me, but I hope you forgive me, and I promise next time something like this happens, I will ask first then shoot." Gopi was so surprised all she could do was stare at her Ahemji.
Ahem kept looking at her and smiled inwardly, he has managed to surprise his wife big time, and there is more surprises coming. She doesn't even know how their life is about to change in the coming days.
Gopi finally spoke up. "Ahemji its ok, you don't have to apologize, I understand, I should have spoke up when you asked me."
Ahem held out his hand. "Friends?"
Gopi took his hand shyly and flushed. "Friends."
Ahem smiled and thought just for now, soon we will be more than friends.

Now friends we all know it will never happen like this, but its a good thought, and I will be happy with however they reveal everything.
