Gopi's actions (or lack thereof š”) are forgotten by viewers over and over again because she is so naive, has no self confidence, and blindly trusts her cousin and Mami no matter how bad they have been to her in the past.. so on n so forth... She has viewer's sympathy because we are privy to Rashi and Urmila's dark side... And then Kokila, the terror queen's actions are usually justified because most of the time she is shown as no non-sense and fair person ... She has been Gopi's biggest support in Modi Mansion and that's why Gopi and us viewers forgive her whenever Kokila is being somewhat unjust.
But for the life of me, I can't figure out why are CVs hellbent on making Ahem the bad guy here? This is my understanding that he has strong aversion towards illiterate people. I am not sure why and when he developed such strong feelings against illiterate people but he does... And then he gets married to one... DAMN!! I am pretty sure Ahem was mad beyond words... And I dont blame him for feeling that way - I, for one, not only want my husband to be literate but at least as educated as I am ... However, if my parents (for some unfathomable reasons) got me married to someone uneducated, I would be disappointed, angry, upset, shattered and what not but wouldn't lash out like Ahem did and still does...I will try to make the best of the situation ... But then again, if my husband washed my laptop, I might just throw a hissy fit or two before working on my marriage... In this highly biased show though, Ahem is so focused and committed to his work that he almost comes across as a walking-talking robot... He is perfectionist, so are Gopi and Kokila but his nitpicking habits make him look arrogant .. Although I think he has a bit of OCD - wiping the seats before sitting in the autorickshaw š...
Even though I know Urmila and Rashi are behind every Kalakari, I still feel perplexed and frustrated with Gopi for mindlessly falling into their trap... Ahem, who doesn't know any of this, has got to wonder why things go wrong wherever Gopi goes... It is not just her illiteracy but anything that she does or plans on doing ... Thanks to Rashi, Ahem doesn't have very many happy moments of his married life to cherish... I know, God helps those who help themselves... well if that were true, then Gopi would have turned her life around long time ago... or after her marriage to Ahem, with her mother in law on her side... but who does Ahem go to? The problem solver in him finally woke up and he took it upon himself to educate his wife but eventually Gopi's bulls**t (which only we know is Rashi's doing) gets to you!! CVs need to bring A LOT of positive changes to his character...
