The nave Gopi's cousin Rashi and her mother Urmila are a bane in her life who always create trouble for the unaware Gopi. Rashi hates Gopi's stature in the household and never lets up an opportunity to make her life miserable. She is obsessed with materialistic wealth and social status, and usually schemes with her mother Urmila, to get her hands on the enviable wealth and treasures of Modi Bhavan. In fact, her sole purpose for marrying Jigar was to gain access to the sumptuous treasures of the rich Modis. Gopi's mother-in-law Kokila usually foils Rashi's plans though.
