OS: Ahem watches Gopi walking away

I watched her walk away.

She is doing this for me. Trying to prove herself that she is what I want. She wants to be an educated wife who will not let me down when meeting with my business colleagues. She wants to be able to find things like the newspaper I searched for but she shown me an older one. She wants to make sure that she is taking care of everyone properly by not giving them expired medication, neither being able to write down a number when asked to nor not writing the correct words on my handkerchief or socks. She does not want to let me down at all.

She took me by surprise!! After walking through the school gate she turned giving me the sweetest smile, I haven't seen of late, and waved goodbye. I responded automatically. I was engulfed in her beauty and her warmth. I simply adored her.

If she ran up to me for a hug through the gate I would have succumbed and hugged her back. Just to take in her a bit of her warmth and give her some comfort that today will go well.

I did not realise that I had waved back at her. I looked at my hand which confirmed that I did. How foolish was I to do that as she just stood there looking at me until I put on my stern face. She hastily turned and walked away.

I watched her walk away.

She has come into my life for nearly a year now. So much has changed for me because of her. I share my room, my cupboard and my bathroom with her. I share my car when I have to take her anywhere. She takes care of all my needs seamlessly. She washes and irons my clothes. She serves me tea, breakfast and dinner. She sets my clothing on the bed for me to wear in the morning and evening. When I was asked what her likes and dislikes were, I was stumped!! The rest of the family know the answers.

Stupid me!!! Stupid, stupid me!!! It bothers me. It really bothers me ... for not having any answers about her ... for not knowing about her ... for not being that bit more humane with Gopi. I have to do something about this now.

With that Ahem realised that the rickshaw was still waiting for him. Usually the rain irritated him. He hates it because his hair does not set on days like this. However, this did not annoy him at all.
