Good thread. I have expressed these thoughts elsewhere too and I will express them here. I don't agree with the depiction of illiterate people in this drama. My own grandmother was completely illiterate but she was never a fool. She was among the wisest people I ever knew. And I know other illiterate people who are exteremely sharp. The problem with Gopi is not that she is illiterate. It is that she is portrayed as a fool. She has no common sense, no self-respect, no clear thinking process, no ability to differentiate between who is right and who is wrong. I don't buy the argument that she has suffered abuse so she is like this. Abuse does not mean that you will never grow. Gopi has shown no signs of improvement, in fact she is getting worse. As for Jigar, what sort of a man is he? Why are all the nice characters shown as so stupid and spineless in this drama? Why can't they stand up for themselves? And how come nobody ever finds out Rashi's tricks? The way things are going, she can get away with murder and no one will ever know or care. And it is so boring to watch the same thing happening again and again. Rashi and Urmila's kalakariyan are so monotonous. This is not why I started watching the drama. The writers need to realise that the viewers are not as low IQ as Gopi and need to start respecting their audience.
