Part 2.

Gopi carried Ahamji (the cockerel) in her arms and headed to the kitchen to prepare the evening meal. But Chikenji had other ideas, he was constantly going into cupboards and unused pots, Gopi was terrified what would happen to him, if she forgot for a minute he was a chicken and he ended up being cooked, so after she had prepared the vegetarian dinner, she took him out of the pot for maybe the 10th time now (I know this chicken is happily going to it's death, waiting for someone to put him on the fire to cook him) and decided she need to get him entertained in a game.

As Gopi needed to take out the clothing from the washing line she and Chickenji headed up to the roof terrace with some peas, Gopi shelled a couple of peas and rolled them across the terrace patio (smoother surface where she washes clothes) and Aham just stared at them...Gopi told him go on Ahemji go run after them...race the peas (Aham's brain was still active and he said why does she want me to run around after some peas, I think I will go sit on the swing) Gopi stared at him and shook her head and carried on removing the washing.

Then Kokila came up to the terrace.

Kokila looked at he swing and so the cockerel there.

(she made to grab it, the cockerel quickly flew of the swing and went to hide in Gopi's saree skirt).

Gopi stayed silent. She knew that when maji was in this mood she couldn't be reasoned with.

Gopi told Ahemji, look you can stay but don't mess the furniture or break anything as I won't be able to stop them from throwing you out if you do that.

Aham was thinking, yes there's that but he wouldn't put it passed the others in the house from throwing him out anyway whilst his wife wasn't looking, I best stay close to her, so she can watch over me.

Rashi came there, Gopi what are you doing with this chicken, it will make you ill, put it outside.

Gopi reasoning that Rashi she could trust as she is the one that told her about the ghost entering humans and turning them into animals told her everything (whilst holding Rashi's right hand)...Aham was listening.

Aham was upset after hearing the story about Anita's ghost and it being Kanaji's will he be turned into a chicken and started making lots of noise...buck buck buck (like he was very stressed)...Gopi said I feel he is very stressed on hearing this news, let me take him upstairs and I will give him his dinner in our room and make sure he is settled before I serve the evening meal to everyone.

Gopi gave Rashi all the dry clothes she had unpegged from the washing line and carried the chicken and carried him into the house. Kokila and Hetal were together watching Gopi, Hetal asked what's this, Kokila told her about Gopi wanting to keep a pet chicken, Hetal smiled and said she is very loving and probably lonely let her have this friend.

Gopi went into the kitchen and took some dry corn from the cupboard a bowl of water and just in case a bowl of khichidi too. She took everything upstairs to their room, put the Ahemji on floor with the food and water and told him, don't go away from here, I'll be busy with my dinner chores and won't be able to watch you.

Aham just looked at her, Gopi went to the door, and just incase she locked the room door, Aham looked at the corn...yuck it wasn't appealing, he looked at the khichidi and that was more like it, he was rather peckish (lol) and started to eat, afterwards when he drank some water, he walked around the room and stood back from the full length mirror to be able to see himself and saw what everyone had been seeing, his outer appearance shocked him so much he fainted.

Urmila was observing all this from her glass ball and cackling like the witch she was, and took out her cell phone, her favourite tool, and rang Rashi.

Urmila wasn't a very clever witch, a more intelligent witch would have had a body ready to substitute for Aham, as soon after the transformation happened, but she panicked as Aham was getting close to Gopi and she needed to do something to put an obstacle into this happening.

Chirag Khaka and Jigar came home from work, they were confused with what had occurred at the office, Chirag Khaka had gone into Aham's office and found a heap of clothes there, with Aham's cell phone and wallet in the pockets of this suit, he brought the whole lot home, but didn't discuss this with Jigar and thought to have a meeting with family and find out where Aham was, and why he had shed his clothes in the office...(lol).

Meanwhile Rashi had looked at the quantity of clothes Gopi had handed over to her and dumped them in the study. But her luck ran out as Parag came in the study later and noticed them and took the clothes to Kokila, Kokila took the clothes and gave them to Rashi to iron and fold them away in everyone's cupboard. (Rashi occupied elsewhere)

Chirag asked to speak to everyone before dinner and told them what he found in Aham's office, Gopi came downstairs as they were about to start the meeting, having settled Ahemji down with his dinner. Heard everything Khaka was saying and looked at maji, who was looking worried, she thought should she try one more time, but decided to let it go for now, they all decided Aham would turn up eventually with some wild story. They would give it today and if he didn't turn up by tomorrow they would be worried, they all had dinner and the men sat in the hall waiting for Aham to appear, Gopi quickly finished her chores and went upstairs to check on Ahemji she found he had fainted and took him to the bathroom and took some water and splashed it on his cockerel face to revive him...lol

Rashi was cursing Gopi and Kadgi to high heaven for making her do all this ironing (Jigar stayed in the hall waiting for Aham to show, so didn't see his wife's mood, thank god for him...lol).

Gopi told Ahemji everything that had happened downstairs...(Remember audience when Gopi could understand Naani without her teeth or Rashi when she had taken Maun Vrat, well similarly the wife started to understand what the husband was trying to communicate to her)...Gopi understood from Ahemji that he had put ink in the storeroom because he didn't want it ruining the furniture in the study when it spilled by a family member or maid whilst cleaning the desk, so Gopi carried Ahemji and went to the storeroom and took a jar bottle of ink and went to the study for some paper when she had the items ready, Aham communicated he was ready to face the family.

Gopi took everything to the hall, with the chicken in tow. By this time Hetal and Kokila had joined the men worriedly to wait for Aham to show up. Gopi announced that she had something to say, they told her to speak and she again said Ahemji was already present, she placed the paper on the table and opened the ink bottle...she placed Chickenji on the table, everyone was fascinated by the show...lol, and Aham dipped a nail into the ink and wrote down clearly, I am Aham, by some weird fate this afternoon in the office I was transformed from a human being into a chicken and he said all day he had tried to tell his mum, that he was this way...Kokila gasped and looked at Gopi, she said when Gopi was trying to tell me, I didn't believe her, I just thought her lonely and wanting a pet.

Chirag Kakha said okay Aham, he opened his laptop and placed it on the table and Aham began to communicate with everyone on the laptop, everyone was amazed and happy...luckily all the maids and household servants had retired at this time and no-one but family observed the chicken communicating to the rest of the family. Chirag said to everyone that no-one must speak of this matter to anyone, as we will have newspapers and other media organisations exploiting the situation, already making a confusing situation more so.

Kokila wanted to take Aham with her to her room, but Hetal told her this would give rise to suspicion, particularly as everyone including the servants, knew how much she wanted to get rid of the chicken the day before, that it was best the chicken, excuse me Aham, stay with his wife, Gopi smiled and Chirag agreed and Gopi carried Aham upstairs.

Meanwhile Urmila observed this all through her glass ball (she had a link to whatever the chicken was doing as she had made the potion that transformed him).

She rang Rashi and told her, you fool, I told you not to let the family know about Aham being in this state, now all my plan has gone in the water, never mind, Jigar is still the only human heir...lol. Now I want you to trick Gopi to give you the chicken to clean it, so it doesn't bring contagion in the house and kill it, by putting it in boiling hot water.

The next morning the puja was done, everyone breakfasted and the men left for the office, Gopi was clearing up the kitchen and Aham as usual was in a pot, Rashi came there, whilst Gopi was cleaning the dishes, boiled the electric kettle, when it was finished, she took the pot Aham was sitting in, immediately Aham sensed danger and began squacking...buck buck buckaaaw. Gopi quickly turned around and came to grab the pot from Rashi as she the was about to pour hot boiling water on top of the chicken.

Rashi could only stare at how well Gopi had adjusted so well to having her human husband now a bird. If it was her she would not be able to handle it.

Gopi took the pot with Ahemji and stood it close to the sink, where she was finishing washing dishes, and once she completed her chores, carried Aham upstairs to there room, she has some stitching to do and put Aham on the bed whilst she did this, she talked to him.
