@Jake - yes I did. Now no smoke in Singapore but still use the herbal powder. Amma lives with me and so she does pamper me!😊

Its been ages since I saw the yellow soap. I will check it out next time when I go to India. Modis are the definition of Kanjoos!

Bee, you make so many good points...

I leave all the malish and bonding customs up to the experts to explain. And thanks to everyone for giving some excellent examples of these customs.

Laundry - a puzzle for me because again not familiar with this and not sure what point the CVs are trying to make with all the bahus working like servants. However, when I was in India at Christmas I noticed that most people have washing machines now. And when I was little girl (a very long time ago) in India we had a dhobi or dhoban either take our cloths to wash and washed them at home. So this is all odd to me.

Even the soap business, if only Gopi/Mani is washing the clothes always, why they keep the soap in the ensuite bathrooms? Soaps for clothes are generally kept separately.

@Bee, If I were to use logic, I would say that they keep the yellow soap in the bathroom to wash their underthings, after all they don't have washing machine and they dry all their clothes on the line, so it would make sense that they don't want their unmentionable seen by the neighbors, then again what neighbors, it just one of those Modi Mansion Mystery.🤣
