@ bee: now cost has gone over the head na...gold prices hav risen..de caterers ask 4 more money since veggie prices r up..and not 2 mention the marriage hall rents startin at mininum 2 lakhs..n then u gotta get dresses for all relatives ( they expect us too)...and then make-up expenses 4 de bride (nowadays groom too )...phew..the big fat indian wedding indeed...and u bee..even during ur wedding presenting paper n all..no doubt..certified nerd..

@ simz : hope my reply 2 bee will give u an idea of south indian wedding..

it was same as in lunch...none of my frnds and me too was not feeling hungry so just had one chapati and Palak Paneer from morning....

yup..... n d name is swiss embroderies....it's in annanagar.... near yeses..... d dresses are so beautiful.... i dont like cotton dresses much bcoz they need 2 ironed before wearing them so bought one dress in each colour they have.... i have half a shelf of dresses from there..... some 20-25 pieces there....lots of collections are there but i dont buy much becoz they are cotton... but lots of designs n lots of colours are there in d shop.... recently i went n bought 4 for myself n 2 for my mom.....yaar my mom says we would need 20 lakhs if my wedding is fixed.....cost covering for all those doemstic needs n furnishings n all... plus d cost for marriage

@Madz - we were both phd students at that time. so we had to do what our profs wanted us to do. BTW, it is true that we are both certified nerds.

@Sadhli - Palak paneer! It was my nightmare when I was learning to cook. It is hubby's fav curry and every time I made used to end in World War III, for the first few times.
@Simran - yes our weddings tend to be on the tedious side.
@madhu -yes. it is true that it is very costly. If i have kids, I will ask them get married at home and register it.

@sadhli - after the first few times either I got it right or he got used to my cooking. Now there are no complaints. He is now so very well behaved that even after eating at a good restaurant, remembers to tell that I make the dish better!🤣
