Chapter 9

Sorry for the delay guys..I have bought a new dachshund puppy..and he doesn't let me write !!

Gopi had been gagged by the masked men and dumped in a dark corner.She could feel a warm and painful sensation oozing out of her hands and legs,where the rope with which she had been tied, had cut into her skin.Despite the pain spreading over her entire body all she could think about was how badly Ahemji had been hit by the men.How he had shrieked in pain before falling down to the ground.She prayed for his well-being.A tear rolled down her cheek.She had always felt guilty that she had ruined Ahemji's life by marrying him.Inspite of this he had tried to save her from
these goons. "Oh Kanhaji!Please take care of Ahemji.Please give him all the love and happiness that he desires".With this she closes her eyes.
Ahem had never felt more revolted in his life.He pushed back Anita and was sickened by what happened. He closed his eyes and Gopi's face appeared before him.He could not bring himself to think if those guys had mistreated her or forced themselves … Oh my God..He sweared to God that he would track her down and bring her with him by tonight.He remembered how she would get frightened whenever he used to raise his voice on her,how she was crying when the masked guy slapped her across her face.He pledged to break his hands for hurting his Gopi.
Just then,Hetal called out to Ahem.He came out his trance and noticed Hetal and Anita looking at him.Hetal asked him to come inside and speak to Mr Jain and then she left. He turned to Anita and greeted her with a "hello" and asked her for her well being.She said she was fine and expressed her concern about his wife as she had been informed by the hotel staff about the day's happening.Ahem just shook his head and excused himself to go inside the hotel.As he turned to go inside Anita held his hand and told him that she was glad to see him after long and he could turn to her for help anytime as she was his friend.
Paraag called Koki who demanded him to bring Ahem on the line.She had come to the lobby of the hotel to speak with them.As Ahem came on line,she asked him to swear on her and answer all her queries truthfully.She asked him if she knew Umang.He replied," yes,he is Anita's brother."Koki was shocked.Ahem could not understand why she is asking about umang?Ahem froze after what Koki told him.
Anita is glad that Ahem is coming to meet her.She gets dressed seductively and awaits his arrival.They share a mocktail(i don't know if Ahem drinks :-) ) and chat .After some time when she's had a few drinks,Ahem tells her that he missed her.She comes into his arms and tells him that she missed him too and headed for India the moment she got to know that Ahem had taken his vows back.Ahem gulps down his freshly poured mocktail bottoms up.He tells Anita that he would thanks all those who helped them reconcile with each other.She blurts out that Umang and Kinjal were responsible for their coming together.She recounts that how Kinjal planted the famous "Necklace drama" at the start of Ahem-Gopi wedding.Ahem couldn't take it anymore,he thrashed the glass on the floor,slapped Anita and shouted "Please come inside".In came Mr. Jain ,Hetal and Paraag.
Hetal called Koki and informed her that they had succeeded with the first part of their plan and Anita had confessed to the group's modus operandi.Koki told her she had done her part as well and a few slaps,blackmails and emotional drama had made Kinjal vomit out the truth.

Chapter 10

Ahem felt his blood boil.He was seated next to Mr. Jain who was leading a convoy of 20 cars to hunt the masked guys down and rescue Gopi.Chiraag Kaka had called the CM who assured them the culprits would be punished.The events of the day had left him drained,Ahem closed his eyes and waited to reach the destination .So, Anita had gone broke, she and Umang had devised a plan where they would harm Gopi and then Anita would marry Ahem and Umang would marry Kinjal.Kinjal had too played along the brother sister duo and created enough problems between Ahem and Gopi for which he planned to apologize to Gopi after he found her.
A tear rolled down his cheek thinking of Gopi and he closed his eyes again..
Kinjal was crying.Koki looked at her with hatred.She could not understood how could Kinjal plot against her own brother and bhaabhi?Kinjal had blurted out the truth in front of Paraag and Koki and said that Umang convinced her if Gopi would leave or die then he,Kinjal,Anita and Ahem would be a happy foursome. Koki closed her eyes in disgust,how could her own daughter think like that?She didn't know where she went wrong in upbringing Kinjal.. sigh.. She just wanted Gopi Bahu to be safe and sound..
Umang was lying on the cot.He had threatened Gopi that if she tried to make noise or act smart,Ahem would be brutally stabbed to death.Stupid girl.She asked him to murder her and leave Ahem alone. Yes, he and Anita would leave Ahem alone only after making Kinjal's life hell and snatching away all his property. With a laugh he relaxed and sprawled himself on the cot.
Jain ordered his men to take position outside and inside the mill which housed the masked men currently.Anita's interrogation had revealed that there were around 3 men inside so he knew that the operation wouldn't take more than an hour.His officers informed him that they had managed to kill two men but were not able to trace Gopi and the third guy.
When the bodies were brought out for investigation,Ahem cringed as he realized that Gopi was still with Umang inside.He leaped forward and entered the mill himself.
Umang knew that he had two options. Now that he knew that Ahem cared for Gopi to come looking for her,he could barter his own freedom and leave Gopi somewhere or he could poison Gopi and kill himself. Just them Ahem appeared in front of him. Umang taunted him saying that" Finally he gets to see the illiterate girl's love stricken lover. Ahem Modi teri aukaat mein yahin gawaar hai. tere jaise aadmi ko achha hua meri behen nahin mili. par tu fikr mat kar,i will make sure you don't get this gawaar even".Ahem glanced at Gopi whose hands and feet were bleeding and her mouth had been gagged and had been cut by the sides. The round eyes were full of fear and looked up at him with so much love and concern that he felt overwhelmed. Just then he saw something which he knew Umang didn't want him to see.There was a bottle of cyanide kept hidden under a chair."Oh my God.. Umang plans to poison Gopi and kill me",Ahem thought to himself.
"Umang teri dushmani merese hai. maine teri behen ki zindagi kharaab ki hai. leave Gopi and kill me".Ahem pleaded as Umang held gopi at gunpoint.Gopi moved disliking what Ahem said,Umang slapped her."Gawaar aurat maine kaha na zyaada smart banegi to tere pati ko udha dungi.Gopi closed her eyes in fear.
The gun dropped out of Umang's hand as the bullet tore through the skin in his hand.Ahem jumped and grabbed the gun.Umang winced in pain and left Gopi who rushed to Ahem. Ahem put her behind him as the cops grabbed Umang and he kneeled down on his knees.He suddenly swallowed something and collapsed in a second. The cops informed him that he had taken cyanide and thus dies within seconds.
A team of doctors rushed to Gopi and scooped her into an ambulance and rushed her to the hospital.Her pulse was low and doctors suspected poisoning.The rope had been smeared in poison and the poison had entered blood as it cut through the skin.
Ahem was sitting besides Gopi in the ambulance. An oxygen mask covered her face and drip had been put on her hands.Doctors feared for her life as the poison could have got majorly mixed with the blood. Ahem looked at her innocent face.He regretted each and every word he had spoken to her rudely. He touched her cheek slightly.He prayed to God and wished that she would make it up to her once she comes back. His heart pierced at the thought of loosing her.
Gopi was rushed to the OT and the doctors worked on her.After draining out the entire poison from her body,she was sent to a room after three hours.

Her entire family was waiting outside the hospital room. Kokila was inconsolable.She could not believe that her family had to suffer such an ordeal. Ahem was seated in a corner.He had been saying his prayers continuously.Just then the Doc came and told them that Gopi has gained consciousness and they can meet her.Ahem rushed his way through everybody and went inside.Gopi was dressed in white.Her hands had been bandaged.She still had the drip on.The edges of her lips had turned dark red as she had been gagged.
She was about to get up as he entered.He held her shoulders and laid her back on the bed.He couldn't resist dropping a gentle kiss on her lips.Gopi blushed.He held her head in his hands and kissed her again and said "Gopi I love you.You scared the hell out of me."Gopi smiled. He kissed her forehead.Just then Kokila cleared her throat loudly and entered with the others.
They all greeted Gopi and chatted with her.Ahem sat on her bedside with his hand on her forehead and continuously smiled at her face. Gopi looked at him smiling down at her and she knew that she had finally found her "Saathiya".
