The second airing of 3 Idiots on Sony recorded a TVR of 4.9. The channel has added 56 GRPs over the last week.
The No. 1 Hindi general entertainment channel, STAR Plus has increased its share in Week 40, as per the TAM report. It holds 27 per cent share (C&S, 4+, HSM) of the Hindi GEC pie, with 378 GRPs. Colors is at No. 2 with 19 per cent share and 265 GRPs.
Sony has sprung a surprise in Week 40, by increasing its share from 13 per cent to 17 per cent. The channel is at the No. 3 position; once again because of 3 Idiots. It was the third airing of the movie on television and the second on Sony. The movie garnered a TVR of 4.9; while the channel earned 41 GRPs for the movie alone. The first airing on Sony had recorded a TVR of 11 and fetched 92 GRPs.
Sony has added 56 GRPs over the last week, and has 240 GRPs in Week 40. It has, thus, pushed Zee to No. 4. Zee's relative share has declined from 17 per cent to 14 per cent; and the channel has lost 42 GRPs over the last week.
SAB follows at No. 5, recording 8 per cent relative share. Imagine is at No. 6, garnering a 5.9 per cent share. STAR One has managed to grab a relative share of 3 per cent. It is followed by STAR Utsav, Sahara One and DD1, which have garnered relative shares of 1.8, 1.6 and 1.4 per cent, respectively.
Six of STAR Plus shows are in the top 10 in Week 40. Pratigya is the No. 1 show on Hindi GECs, garnering a high TVR of 5.7. Sasuraal Genda Phool, Saathiya Saath Nibhana and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai are at No. 2, recording a TVR of 5.1 each.
Pavitra Rishta on Zee follows with a TVR of 5. The other shows in the top 10 are: the movie, 3 Idiots; and Bidaai, Balika Vadhu, Uttaran and Tere Liye.
