As you said, it would be too obvious and likely for it to be Ranjeet, esp now since the whole family suspects him. The rapist will be someone whom we'll least suspect. Abhi is def shown as a nice guy, but if he turns out to be the rapist it will be a complete shock to the viewers. I suspect it is Abhi more so because he didn't have a good childhood as his mom left him early in life and maybe all his bitter experiences in life caused him to become mentally imbalanced. So my guess is that the rapist is indeed Abhi.

Though I really wish I'm wrong, I can't imagine Abhi turning evil

I guess we will have to wait and see. I still cannot imagine Abhi doing it though.

it would be sad if abhi was shown as a rapist but also a good twist. sachin did say in his interview that he likes to play different roles.. could his role in this serial be 'different' too? i mean i can see him as a negative character but not a rapist.😕 sachin is too innocent looking to play such a character who does a lowly deed like this.
