I think this twist of Devika being Chandni was an unplanned one, so this was a blooper. Or maybe there is another reason to this.

infact I was thinking the same thing, that since she needed a map and everything, that goes to show that she does not know anything about Nahar's house, which says that she was indeed not the 'Chandni' whom Nahar had married and brought home all those years ago, otherwise then, why would she need a map. Anyways, this week more mysteries will be revealed.
