When did being pregnant become a serious illness? Where you can't do a thing and require a advisor such as naani ma? You must remain in bed and can't do anything to help in the household? What is up with that?

Most women have to look after their families can't take to bed and do nothing. They have to look after the family and home.

More and more women work outside the home and do until their last month unless there are real complications which Malti doesn't have.

don't rural women work on farms until the end, give birth and go back work with a nursing baby?

I understand the need of older generations teaching the younger ones traditions, customs, culture, language and everything else about life. But have a real problem with perpetuating ridiculous ideas!

Come on CVs of SBS this is silly! Hope you're trying to teach us that there is a balance between old and new. You can't be stuck in the old ways without adopting a few new idea in the current global society!

I agree 100%. I am mother of 1 and pregnant rite now. I look after my family and work full time as an HR officer. I am very active person, so when i watch malti laying on the bed and relaxing all day, i get soo mad. Seriously pregnancy is wonderful feeling that women needs to enjoy by being active, not relaxing 24/7. Relaxing is good in btwn but come on Malti and nani walk a little, you will feel better.

Totally Agree!!..I have 2 girls and went thru my 2nd pregnancy just last year..I was active all the time went for my yoga, work and also took care of my elder one with her classes and school. till the last day I finished up all my work actually made dinner cleaned up my house and went to the hospital at night. I agree that u get nauseous during the first 3 months and u do feel tired a lot more but that certainly does not mean u lay in bed all day. even grandmas always tell u do do work as it eases out labor. but all these serials instead of educating the masses go ahead a put all silly ideas in their head. I agree u have to be careful in pregnancy but they show as if pregnancy is a terminal illness and u shud b bedridden. the CVs shud do their research it is believed in India (rual and all the elder generations) that a pregnant woman must not just rest . They need to be careful and not lift weights or they shud change the way that they bend to pick things but not stop doing things all together and get head massages :)
I really wish the serials are progressive in their thought and actions.
