Nani was brought in the house to bring wisdom to the Bahus and Take care of Malti. Not to ruin the happiness of the family by creating misunderstanding and unnecessary tension. Seriously this old lady is worse than Malti's mom. I understand where she is coming from but she needs to grow up as its 21 Century. What do you guys think?

I am with you on this. I remember before nani ma came Toasty was so happy that nani ma will come help her with some work in the house but to me it feels like nani ma is just giving orders and passing taunts all the time making life more difficult for everyone especially Toasty. She could have easily made kadha and laddoo by herself. And she is the one who should be responsible for bringing food/water/kadha etc to Malti, why Toasty or Nitika. If they were to do all these things then nani ma is not required.

We can continue to say that nani ma has a good heart and good intentions but I am not seeing them getting translated into anything positive (talk about positive energy in the house😡). In fact, it's just bringing in more stress and sadness.

Sorry, I disagree. I def would not say she is worse than Malti's mom. Malti's mom loved drama and helped adding fuel to the fire. Nani is not like that at all. I think a lot of people have a problem with her because she is very direct and to the point. If you do something wrong, she'll tell you exactly what she thinks and doesn't sugar coat it.

How is she creating misunderstanding or tension? Just because she commented on how she didn't like Nitika working? To her that's good advice, and in a way she has a point. Nitika working and placing most of the house burden on Malti and Toasty is not really fair from a third perspective (aside from audience and house members). It could be just me, but it is disrespectful to not clean up after yourself like Nitika did, so I can see why Nani called her action out.

Nani's motive for coming was to help Malti. And that is exactly what she is doing. Nani means well for everyone, esp Malti. Honestly if Malti had a problem with the stuff Nani wanted her to drink, Toasty should have let her talk to Nani rather than taking it in her own hands and getting in trouble.

It's just the way each individual choose to look at things...everyone's perspective will be different. There are so many characters in a show and each one of us will relate or like one character better than the other depending upon our taste, upbringing and principles in life.

I personally have very low tolerance for conservatism and dictatorship. I see nani ma as an egotistical person who first defines what is right and wrong and then wants every one to follow her accordingly. If not, she will be brutally critical, mock you in the face and use her veto power (not earned but received by forceful demand taking advantage of the situation) to take decisions against your will.

As I said in another post elsewhere, just because one is older doesn't automatically makes them wiser too!! I can't help noticing the difference between nani ma and dadaji...both are from same era but dadaji has molded himself so well to modern times yet maintaining his wisdom and maturity.

As for nani ma's comment on Toasty "tumhare ma-baap ne kuch sikhaya nahin" (something like that?) In my opinion, Toasty's parents especially her dad have really brought her up well, to come from a small modern family and not only adjust but bring happiness and life to C-parivar is highly appreciable and is no small feat!!

I agree that Nitika not cleaning up after herself is bad manners but that doesn't mean she should leave her job. In a similar situation, my mom will probably be mad at me for doing that and ask me to wake up 5 minutes early so I have that extra 5 mins to clean up after myself but she won't tell me to stop going to college/job for this reason.

Haven't we seen other men in C-house leaving their plates on dining table when they finish with breakfast and leave for sari shop in the morning???

That's up to Chedi. He can either remind her to take care of her responsibilities, so no one has a chance to complain or he can tell her to quit her job.

You're right that it's about different perspectives and as people who are not involved in such a situation and as an audience that knows this is fiction, it's easy for us to create opinions easily.

A lot of old people go around like they know everything. They're confidence (which some could describe as ego) is earned. I agree that Dada ji has a better outlook, but Nani is not the first old person to behave like she knows more than the young people and they should listen to her. I personally appreciate her because she's not outright evil (think of Kiya and Malti) and is actually trying to help.

I'm not a fan of conservative outlooks either. However Nani is old school, this is Chedi's saas we're talking about, attempt the math if you want, haha. However I feel for Nani because of their past with her. And she really means well and is not trying to do something bad.

As a viewer, you know how Toasty's mom and dad are like. And if you are a fan of Toasty's, I can see how that comment touched a nerve. However Nani has no idea what kind of family Toasty comes from. I guess to Nani, it was just as bad as a married woman not wearing sindoor. She used a phrase that is common. Was it bad to hear? Yeah, depending on how you see it. Was it absolutely horrible? Not really. Funny enough, I thought it was strange that Toasty wore a black saree (not saying it's wrong, I don't believe in what Nani said) when I had never seen in her in a pre dominantly black saree before.

Chedi had/has nothing to do with it. He didn't have problem with Nitika leaving the plate behind and after Toasty gave him her promise, he didn't have any second thoughts about Nitika going to work until of course nani ma came up with her own version of situation.

And as I said above, why have double standards, when men in the same family are allowed to leave their plates behind on the dining table before leaving for work in the morning why can't Nitika do the same??

i think only those can understand nani ma's action who has lived with old people like her...and experience how they work and how they are...
as i have my grand ma whom i love a lot ...though she has her old believes and always correct if we do some thing wrong( in her eyes like not putting BINDI or WEAR BANGELS if you are married) so we just laugh and hug her and promise next time it won't happen...
and i have lived with many more oldies who are more strong version of this nanima's ...
so yaa...its like saying "pake gade pe kanth nahi chathati" something like that...its difficult to change their thinking and belief...

and about nitika's case i actually agree with nanima's WORRY...that right now all seems fine but in future...if nitika does not start taking her own responsibility things can go out of control...its not bad she is workign out...but if not in family work atleast her personal work she should take care about...
