Chaturvedi parivar wants their daughter in laws to take the place of their MOM. They want Toasty (and Malti) to take on all the responsibilities of their mother, which toasty did to a large extent. But the question is why then they not respect her as if they would respect their MOM? Don't they have double standards?

This is just typical of what happens in joint families. The bahu is brought in lot of lectures that she is like our beti, ma, etc. But the moment something happens, the so-called beti and ma becomes the outsider again and gets blamed for everything.

She is loved by all is true, but they do blame her, take Tej for instance, he didnt think twice before blaming all this is happening due to her want for a change..I mean given its sad the change that has happened, but she meant only well for all, and from where she is coming from, she went above and beyond the need to be good to all. Pashu just doesnt see his mistake at all, just because he has brought up his brothers, he feels guilt tripping them about it, should them up, even if he is wrong and they are right. Toasty desereves a lot more respect from the whole chatur family, and they certainly have double standards, bco they like blaming others for their problems, even though its not bcoz of toasty atall! wonder what will happen when the find out, Malti and Toasty know each other..Lord..

Yes, they do have double standards. Even though she is loved by them, there are still, even after all this, some really big grudges against her. Pashu bhaiya, like Tej said, never thinks twice before taking it all out on her, and even Ved supports him. Yes, members of the family like Prachin, Gyaan, Tej, and Pitaji do sincerely love her, but Pashu and Ved are not like that. She is a new member to the family and all the bitter feelings won't vanish in a snap. And this actually happens in really life. That's what I love about this serial! Things like this really do happen!

Even I have pondered over the issue. All except Chedi maintain double standards. All the actions of the Chaturvedi family cannot be justified by their past experience. How can Pashu blame Toasty for Pracheen leaving home. Even if Toasty wouldn't have been there Pashu would have slapped Pracheen and the present situation would have stll existed. There is no support system for Toasty in that house. Dadaji and Gyaan are helpless as they have no say in any matter. I really don't understand how elders can always be right just because they raised us. Even Chedilal had to give up his ambition of being a footballer to support his family. Why can't Pashu see that? Pashu blaming Chedi for not teaching him how to lead a married life is really the limit. There are somethings one ought to learn by himself.
Sometimes I feel very bad for Malti. Toasty at least has a husband who loves her dearly and supports her. But Malti never had anyone like that. Pashu was definitely not a marriage material. But Malti and her mother have comitted many unpardonable sins and must be punished for the same. Pashu and Ved are definitely making things difficult for Toasty. She has done everything to please them but why the hell are they so stubborn and unwilling to change? They are blind and only misery is in store for them. How can they say All the women are bad? Was their mother like that? Toasty should really take Tej's advice. She should not interfere in the lives of Ved and Pashu even though it's with good intentions. They are just seeing her as a servant . Only when they rise from self empathy and see the truth will their eyes open.

Have a laugh and enjoy as the show is reality at its best. Somewhere along the line it is a reflection of all of us as we all have double standards.

Yes,we all have double standards but this is also true that whenever anything goes wrong in the family the DIL is always the easy one to blame and no matter if she has spent more time with her in-laws than with her parents she always remains the outsider and the easy one to be asked to leave the house.
