its sorta of like American Idol...except they don't insult you....some people sing for 2 minuted...others for 20 seconds....

but hey...im sure she was great...and she will have other chances...its all part of the process...you get thrown down...but you gotta get back up...lessons of life...it'll only make her stronger and try harder and in the end she will succeed....(sounds sort of corny now that i read it....but it wasn't meant to be...😊)

haha it mite b corny but it is true and i very well agree..... i rly hope she reads this cuz i think she will feel much better by this......😊

That's sad. that's the second time someone has complained about it on I-F. Who is this judge? And you raised quite a few good points there. Why do they only have one judge?

yes....there are many worse things....this was just some pissed or agitated judge targeting someone....actually theres another post on the forum where someone says the same happened to them....i think shes a girl 2....maybe he was a sexist pig?? 😆 you never know....but yes singers face struggles all the time....for me the biggest struggle was training....when i first went to my Guru Ji to get classical training...he would have me sit there for hours...and just stay on one note...Sa...and then slowly move up to Re after a few days...finally after a month we complete Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni Sa....Sa Ni Dha Pa Ma Ga Re Sa....and there were times when i would make mistakes and we would go back to the basics....or if i didn't sit properly or show proper respect for my Saaz (instrument) i would have to take a few lashes on my hand....at the time it was sooo frustrating...."why am i saying Sa for the past 3 days?"....and "why does he have to hit me for not sitting straight?"...be it rejection or criticism or just plain arrogance...in the end it pays off....you learn...and you understand the notes and the beauty of it all.....its a struggle but when you overcome it....you become truly happy....😊

Who was this Judge by the way??

Honestly, I feel a lot better after reading these posts. I went for the auditions this morning in New York. It seemed like a complete farce to me. It seemed all pre-decided. I got to sing exactly 1 line of the song "Mere Dholna" from the movie Bhool Bhulaiya. Anyone who has heard the song will know exactly that the song builds up gradually and crescendos only in the second para. There was just this one jerk of a judge who wasn't even willing to make proper eye contact. He seemed to be in a terrible hurry. How he could judge me from just the first line, just baffles me. Even AR Rehman has the time and sensitivity to let people sing atleast 4 lines before making a decision. I think it is only fair that they let people sing atleast the first para, if not more, of any song before making a decision. If these people don't have the time to conduct auditions properly, why even bother to call people to audition. It is a pure waste everyone's time and effort. Not to mention the demoralizing effect. BTW, I did find out the name of the judge. I had never heard of him before, I don't know what his claim to fame is and I don't even remember his name. I wish all aspirants the best of luck and hope no one else has such a bad experience.

Moderator's Note:

Friends,

its a request please dont quote long posts and quote only the portion to which you are making the reply 😳 The whole page gets disturbed because of the long posts and its also a rule that long posts should not be quotted.. So, please avoid quoting the whole post and just quote which is required...

Thanks

I did not make it. None of my friends made it. Actually I wasn't even able to try out because of school conflicts and my parents not wanting me to miss school. But I got direct audition for Challenge 2009.
The way my friends told me about it, it wasn't done in a good way.
