Honestly, I feel a lot better after reading these posts. I went for the auditions this morning in New York. It seemed like a complete farce to me. It seemed all pre-decided. I got to sing exactly 1 line of the song "Mere Dholna" from the movie Bhool Bhulaiya. Anyone who has heard the song will know exactly that the song builds up gradually and crescendos only in the second para. There was just this one jerk of a judge who wasn't even willing to make proper eye contact. He seemed to be in a terrible hurry. How he could judge me from just the first line, just baffles me. Even AR Rehman has the time and sensitivity to let people sing atleast 4 lines before making a decision. I think it is only fair that they let people sing atleast the first para, if not more, of any song before making a decision. If these people don't have the time to conduct auditions properly, why even bother to call people to audition. It is a pure waste everyone's time and effort. Not to mention the demoralizing effect. BTW, I did find out the name of the judge. I had never heard of him before, I don't know what his claim to fame is and I don't even remember his name. I wish all aspirants the best of luck and hope no one else has such a bad experience.
