Yes, he was the MD of this song.. Usually it was Hemantda who used to sing his own songs.. But there are others too like Rafi sahab who have worked with him.. He has even directed a movie.. But it did not do well..

I have heard Hemant Kumar's Rabindra Sangeet many times. He sounds just awesome.
