Ohh come on folks, she was just answering a non-descript question asked by a journalist interviewing her and all of you have started bashing her, after all this was not a self called press conference. Is this the price of telling the truth. 😕

You are all doing exactly what some dubious journalists do, blowing things out of proportions. If one person who has to answer her jibes is our great Himmy miya, who is the main accused here. Let him come out with a solid reply, then we will have a real blast(By the way just came to know that so far AKS has been the top hit of 2007 in terms of earnings).

Now Asha tayi's position is been there done that, so she is on an experimenting spree nowadays, so naturally there will be both bouquets & brickbats. She has achieved so much in the music industry both in terms of money & fame that why does she need to prove herself time & again?

@Salil, When & where have people started ignoring Asha & hasn't her name been associated with numerous masterpieces, why are we writing her off already?

I went to her and Sonu's concert not too long ago and felt sad for her. What a fantastic voice she had and I like to remember her as the exceptional singer of our time. I came out of the concert thinking why does she have to sing in front of thousands of people now? I like to listen to her old songs and enjoy her most intoxicating voice. Definitely, it is time to retire and let the young ones sing.

If someone has recorded Asha Ji's song but then edited the song to include to such an extent that they have only used her alaap portion and remaining are other' voice, then this a sheer insult to a singer of her stature.

Why only Asja Ji's songs, such things should not be done even to a budding singer. They should either drop the singers full recorded portion or use it in modified portion only after getting the artiste's consent.

I am sure such a thing cannot be done anywhere else. So let us understand her genuine grievance.

I think she must now retire!! We have so many legendary songs of Ashaji which we would like to hear.. But now things have changed.. Its all Sunidhi's age!! What Ashaji is talking, happens with many singers.. Their voice goes through lot of digitization!! The age of live music is gone and technical improvements have taken the front seat!!

Like SPB said in one interview - even duet songs are recorded in solo and then mixed.. They dont even know who is the other singer and only when the song is released they get to know!! This is the truth and happens with everyone.. Today it is HR and RGV. Tomorrow it will be someone else.. They maynot even give the proper credit..

Yeh Kalyug hain.. Ghor Kalyug.. So, its better she retires or try reviving the old songs!!

agree with u,totally.I refrained from commenting so long since I ws under the impression that she had called a press conference to make this statement abt HR's song.So i was wondering abt her "late reaction".But if it was an interview, then I think she is totally justified in her statements.

She says 'jaise gaana aata hai poora gaana maine record kiya'...so wht I understood is that she sang the whole song..,then,without telling her HR edited some of her parts out and added his voice(HR is in love with his voice😆) and the other stuff...If this is wht was done, then she has reason enuf to be furious ...If a singer is being told they are recording a solo song and then it is turned into a duet without their knowledge,.......HR has dubbed his voice on Asha's voice. This is done only for dummy singers...they record a song and the so called famous singer comes and records his voice on top of theirs...at least dummy singers are aware that their voice will be erased later.... And for someone like Asha ,who has been singing for over 50 years,to be treated in this manner is disgusting..& incorrigible.

I agree that her singing and quality of voice is not a patch on wht it used to be in her heyday....But I don't think that is reason enuf to discredit her statements/brand her as (nearly)senile 😊

Just because it happens with everyone, it does not it right. It should not happen to any singer at all.

Given freedom many people would many things as they like. Since it is Ghor Kalyug we need checks for this . May be the artiste's guild should take up this matter and take measures to prevent such exploitative practices.

She could not sing the song well (because of her advanced age or something) and did extremely poor job with it and now when there was public outcry for her being doing such bad job, she is blaming it on Himesh and the digital era. Asha-ji people will believe you if you produce few masterpieces like Umraao Jaan songs again... otherwise people are just going to ignore you... you may just continue doing your stage shows and private albums with some film stars and sportsmen.

Wow sounds like a blow below the belt.😆
