If you all knew that, then why did you all think Raja would surely win to start with ? There were so many threads here itself that claimed Raja will be the winner, his state was backing him up to the point of going insane and Aneeks own state deserted him. If Rehman was to be believed, (and there is no reason why he shouldn't be believed) then it was west bengal that was not supporting or voting crazily for aneek but it was Bikaner and Rajasthan doing so.
Aneek won fair and square ..and he deserved every bit of it.😳

Then how come when Akshay Kumar said "And the winner is" the audience were all shouting Raja Raja and no Aneek's name. Even in the final speech people were cheering only when Raja spoke.
Aneek is talented but does reality shows really bring out the most talented as the winner???

Aneek won. And he is a good singer. I don't know if it was fair and square, but that's the outcome.

That Raja Raja must have come from some hopeful Raja Fans. Aneek's fan over there were too anxious to know what ther results were and were saving all their energy for the party afterwards.... you see as it is, they all worked non stop round the clock 24/7 to get him the title, now after the win also, they would need some energy to have the celebrations, right?😉😆
Well if we are really talking about most talented here, then if Aneek does not qualify here, then neither does Raja qualify as most talented.... so equation is even.....😳
From what I've observed, the culture of Bengal (generalization here) stresses the importance of musical training. The same can be said for southern India. Many of the noted musicians of the past 50-60 years have been products of these two regions.
That the past competitions of recent time have had a trend of singers with a Bengali background can be attributed to two main factors.
The first relates to the musical training the competitors receive. There is a strong and constantly reinforced emphasis on classical training.
The second relates to the population of the region. Calcutta, a major metropolitan, serves as a cultural and technological hub. The influence of the city is such that the surrounding area follows suit in voting trends.
As to why the "audience were all shouting Raja Raja" ... to my understanding, the final show took place in Mumbai. While many must have travelled far and wide to attend, it would certainly have been more convenient for those from Bikaner and surrounding places to travel to the location. Also keep in mind, we were not getting a purely live feed. The director, producer and editor had enough lag time to select specific audio and visual bytes to sway the emotions and thinking of the television audience in a particular direction before announcing the truth.
Talent backed by training has brought all three contestants to such a stage. The finals and the winner were a matter of logistics, statistics and some luck.
The following is a map based on the 2001 census. This supports the population argument.
